If you can always give a home to a wonderful Dog or Cat

 Buster

Silly boy you are my friend

Smiling face nudging head

How excited to see me

Play time will be sought you see

Ears perk up when I say

Where’s your ball?

You dance and sway

Tromping grass so happily

No man moves me like you do

Your upturned eyes are stuck like glue

At my sight because you knew

That ball will fly right on cue

You’re not a lap dog I confess

You are too large but try your best

Whole body leans right into me

Smiling panting lovingly

Quizzically you turn your head

Treat I say, you like instead?

As a morsel spans the air

Like a flytrap you can snare

Laughing bringing so much joy

Did you chew it, taste enjoy?

One big gulp and it is gone

I shake my head laughing long

Where’s the kitty I do say

You charge right at him, but you stay

To prove to me you know he’s there

But nary ever hurt a hair

My gentle friend you are a pair

Sleeping together with loving care

No better dog is there to have

Protecting yard my gallant lad

For every noise that you do hear

You raise your head alert and clear

I proudly walk you down the street

Along my side proud and sleek

You march in time you never swerve

Just like a soldier proud to serve

We never had you as a pup

No joy to see you growing up

For at the pound in cage you were

We found you there so not deserved

But for our sake you were to find

A home so very loving kind

So in our care you were placed

Our angel Buster we’re so graced

For so much love cannot be replaced

I feel every bit of love you have for Buster and the love that is returned to you. I have Zoe, and she is a lap dog. Best watch dog I've ever had. She's a mutt. Half Yorkie, half Schnauzer.

For at the pound in cage you were,
We found you there so not deserved

So glad that you rescued Buster. And I wish that many more people were doing the same today.

PS: One of my extremely large dogs also insists that he's a lap dog, and who am I to argue with him!
