So simple the tenderness of a kiss

Velvet petals

Velvet petals touch my lips, each with such a wakefulness

Essence meant to captivate, held powerless one can’t escape

They brush my cheek caress my soul

Warmth doth draw me in their folds

Trace their form with fingertips drinking in their tenderness

My dove coos softly with a touch, quivers gently softness blush

Holds white rose so carefully, savored gently softness be

Such purity brings forth to me, of itself its love doth bring

I am more fond of roses than any other flower. So much beauty, soft, fragrent delicate and still with thorns. You make me want to kiss a rose.

Stay well and keep writing

My dear lady how eloquently you surmise the loveliness and beauty of a kiss. How enchanting the tenderness you evoke.

I bow to you with tipped hat

How sweet Carolee, all of life's sorrows and beautiful joys can be witnessed in any individual thing that lives. And this velvet petal lives in your being, covering the shape of your heart, and laid out like blankets on the beaches of your soul.
