Jedi and Hero

Celebrating 35 years of fandom!! 35 year anniversary of the most ultimate saga, Star Wars.

My uncle warned me
That I should stay away
From that crazy old man
Living out in the desert.
Folks said he
Was just a wizard,
A Jedi of some sort
Who knew the
Ways of the Force,
One who lost his mind
After serving as
A general in the Clone Wars.
I didn't want
To listen to them,
But especially not to
My uncle, he has a bias
Anyone who isn't
Farming and minding
His own business is
Trouble and dangerous and
Best to be
Avoided and left alone
I wanted to
Obey and listen to
My foster parents and elders
But you see
As a young man I was
A bit of a rebel who
Longed to get away
From farming and
Blast off this
Hot, boring desert rock
Of a planet
For a life of
Excitement and adventure.
Then two droids
Came into my life and
It altered my destiny
Beyond my wildest imaginings
Like my father before me
I became a
Jedi and a Hero.

Although I was never a Star Wars fan I do believe between it and Star Trek they help mold a lot of peoples lifes and I think you captured the heart of Star Wars well in this poem.
