Chlorine may ruin my hair
And irritate my eyes
I may not be as quick
I may not have the perfect stroke
Or the perfect glide

I may forget to count my breaths
or the metres along the way
If I still had a coach -
he'd definitely have something to say

But after seven years
It feels as if I've never left
How I went this long without?


I forgot what I was missing
I now feel I was bereft
