Consciousness in Conspectus

Cold dark thoughts your
wits end happiness forlorn
and damned depressed
without a valid reason
finding yourself in this
pity position what to do?

Making a list of plusses
and minuses just might
convince a sun to rise
again in your heart with
peace of moon beaming
from your face as true
beauty at it's best

Believing in plusses
outweighing minuses
awakening to find when
rain marries the sunshine
a rainbow of magnificence
arches of importance by
spectrum for a mission
bridging existence into
blessings of happiness

A rainbow is a token of the
covenant in the clouds and
sky. It was a promise that
God would never again
judge the earth by flooding

This is a pleasant, optimistic summary of life, the trick is not to spend too much time playing a pointless, personal zero sum game and just look on the bright side. And how come rainbows always make us smile.

If the minuses outweigh the pluses, then it's time to walk (no cell phone) and write. Walk to clear the mind, and write to work it out. Both ways one will find that depression disappears.

Always have enjoyed following rainbows to their ends, hoping for that pot of gold, but I think just the seeing of the rainbow is pot of gold enough...e

When you are depressed I would think counting the plusses and minuses would serve to make you even more depressed. What if the minuses outweighed the plusses? Eh gads!

Vivian, as usual you gave our minds, hearts and souls lots to contemplate and think about in this one. It is so easy to get lost in a cloud of dark when we cannot find the sun but we always have to remember...after the clouds come blues skies. Thank you for sharing.
