Sometimes what was meant to be will.

She went to the post office
to do her daily mail run.
As she made it's parking lot
her eyes she did not beleive.
For there leaning on his pickup
was a cowboy in repose.
His stetson over his eyes
boot heels dug into the road.
As she got out of her car
hat now back he strode her way.
She was in startled surprise
this was the man in her dreams.
He walked up and hugged her close
bent and they warmly embraced.
They pulled back and smiled happy
he said "I just could not wait".
Then took her hands kissing palms
and placed a kiss on her eyes.
He turned walking to his truck
waving as he drove her by.
She stood there now all aglow
would see him again she knew.

Nice little interlude though I think I would get quite a shock if this happened to me at the post office. Cheers

A classic feeling of what's next as you sway your readers toward
waiting, which is the mark of a good writer.. Clever exit....:-)

A lovely tribute to the power of imagination and faith. So often, we have only these kinds of imaginings to sustain us in a world gone sour in many respects for the power of hope.

And with a damp feeling down low she chased his truck and jumper his bones...(sorry I just had to end it in a way that I would have loved to read)...e

Just the right amount of mystery and innuendo. Leaves me waiting for the other shoe (boot) to drop. Nice. Dick

Beautiful romantic write Budd, with a surprising end.
"He turned walking to his truck waving when he drove by"
Of course she will see him again, what is determined to be will be.
I know this very well

Nice poem. It reminds me of my first romance. Funny how you don't forget those details. Good times in the past and good times yet to come. Amen.

Yes, indeed she would see him. My bedtime, you know you know I'm full of cheap California burgundy. Love this chance of seeing him again.

What a lovely surprise for a gal :)
Not only a surprise but incredibly romantic!
This will surely touch the hearts of many women
who would love to experience something so wonderful!

Beautiful vision "Budd" :)
