A beautiful rendering of a sad subject. I still remember the nights my father would come home drunk and the fight would ensue, going on for some time while my brother and I couldn't sleep in fear that he would come into our room and talk bad again like he always did when he couldn't control his anger about his work.

| What children hear and see and observe when these slings and arrows are flung and shot are more likely to impress them negatively than any attempt to teach them the Golden Rule. The philosophy of . . . Do as I say, not as I do is a bad road to go down on. |

Oh how the little children must suffer dear lady Lily, and sadly how mankind in a word cannot see beyond their own selfishness.
I bow and tip my hat to you

Carolee,
A very intense heartfelt verse about a subject so unsettleing. It is the tiny ones who suffer the most even when the anger is not directly aimed their way. You express it with the love of those who do not even know they need protection.
