PRACTICAL DREAMERS

neither of us are children
we’ve been around the block
a time or two

known how it feels to love
and be loved

had our hearts broken
more than once

both of us have been sailing
the sacred seas of sorrow
deep rivers of pain

neither of us have forgotten
how to smile, how to laugh

we remember well young desire
and how to embrace life

and though neither of us are
young anymore, experience,
perhaps eclipses youth

for there are no more illusions
to bruise our hearts

no inabilities to face realities
or to nurture dreams

and you are the sweetest dream
this man has entertained
in many long years

this is refreshingly mature and real, DJ,
gone the gush of youth and the impossible
reaching, here's calm but with passion
and understanding.."no more illusions"
but still know how to smile and laugh..
now that's something

this i love and am saving

Sounds like a match made in heaven. Got me thinking about my younger twin brothers. Both on the path of the third marriage. I wonder if they've learned this time. At least they are trying.

So good to see you back home again...Have missed you very much.
Sailing can be quite exciting don't you think?
I love to sail and not be a practical dreamer...
One day our ships will meet in the night and we will see who is a dreamer or a realist...

Such an amazing poem as always you capture the true essence of romance...Go get her, she's real and is waiting to sail on your ship of dreams...lucky girl...

Much peace, love and light,
Amber
