Sweetest Rose of Jericho
Sweetest nectar upon our soul
Your voice spills upon the orchard blossoms
Where you and I gather in season to pick it’s fruits
Do you recall when we waded into the silent stream
Where the Judean limestone’s were quarried as tawny jewels
Bathed by the silken emeralds of grassy moss
We walked for miles that day, under a blanket of gold
the gloriousness of sunshine kissing it’s warmth upon our faces
where we laid with joy amidst the wild flowers
The fragrant perfumes burst into the secrets of the wind
While we watched the Lord overhead our surrendering thoughts
Gazing upon his messages within the alabastrine clouds
Do you remember how he wrote our names in his template
Signed that day by the symphony of the Starlings flocking north
Hallowing our souls with his abundant presence of unyielding love
Do you remember our songs upon the secrets of his wind tide?
Oh sweetest, sweetest Rose of Jericho…do you remember…
