What language of shared understanding

do we use my love

in ending this entangled bedlam that is us?

What ficticious words will render

this severance

barren of accusations and guilt?

Let us take leave now

with our sad remorse and longings

and linger no longer

lest our bloodless wounds fester

and our words churning in bitter bile

spew forth from guts twisted in pain...

never to be retrieved.

Yet in the certainty of end

words matter not

and are as dew drops

falling on a raging fire.

Your words are captured in the reality of relationships that are the walking dead refusing acknowledgement for far too long. It is like this in too many lives. This is an excellent write that could not have been stated any better than this.

This is beautiful poetic literature Pat, and very spiritual
for me as I felt The Lord is Narrator & that in itself
is even more priceless to this poem's essence. Your poets voice
is lovely & beautiful, this is so much more than a love poem

A poignant, wise, and calmly beautiful poem of deliverance from raging words.

However, I couldn't contain myself, because I do drop words from time to time. ;-)

Sorry to know of this situation, Pat, but hopefully both of you will heed this call for leaving in peace. Very hard to do. We want to lash out. To hurt. Hopefully it will not be the case here.
