This poem encourages us,its readers, to be resilient, no matter what the challenge.
|
I Rise!
Like the phoenix*, I rise.
At first , dazed, uncertain ,
Unsure of my strength.
I stumble,off balance,
Nothing to grasp, to clutch,
To steady my gait.
Standing, I focus
On my hopes and dreams.
I test my wings, my strength.
Staring into the distance,
I pivot ! I stretch! I rise!
*Phoenix: The mythical bird that was reborn from its ashes.

An inspiring poem, Barbara.
We need resilience to become stronger, in order
to cope with stress, adversity.
But, what does it mean to be resilient, when
positive thinking, ...uplifting words,.... have limits?
So many people are in a dark, frightening place,
insulted, humiliated, disenchanted, distrustful,
standing alone on the top of deep Ocean gap
with no hope or/and zest for life.

My mother used to say {well, yell} she was a phoenix. Kept rising from the ashes. . .hers is a long, and in the end, tragic, story. . .but
I grew to have a passion for the metaphor. Flatter myself that I am something of a phoenix. Be that as it may, >>>>>I LOVE THIS < < < < <. So inspiring!!! Thank you so much for sharing it!!! |

As a personal experience, “I rise,” has great meaning. Some have done it several times. For me it has only been once. And I'm not talking about Jesus.
