Picking berries in the summer sun
Gathering many, it was great fun
Suddenly the world collapsed before me
As I collapsed frothing and my tongue bitten
the grass became my bed and my bladder flowed
The minutes passed no one there, unseen from the road.
My wife discovered me as she brought clothes to the line
Made sure I was safe and phoned NHS Direct and not 999
Admitted to hospital MRI a scan to peruse
No longer to drive the licence to loose.
So diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 62
May that be my luck, I'd not wish for you
But many who read this will have a dejas vu
Join the Epilepsy Club I welcome you.
