Having an appreciation for the power of mirrors as a metaphor (my published novel, "3 Way Mirror" and various chapters in two other novels dealing with mirrored reflections)I found myself of late thinking once again in that direction and realized it needed grounding. Hopefully, this short rumination on a long thought will resonate.
Rivers of Mirrors
flowed endlessly from year to year
carving channels that once carried sun and moon
along with bended trees and sky atop innocent faces
but which now torment beneath the rippling surface
avoiding the pungent ache of memories left behind
like the winding track of the serpent,
the waters move the shattered dreams above,
ever tactful in its resolve.
to reach the caldron ahead,
and shed scales of old
swirling waste of the past
converges with future's flow
where melting experiences
will render new mistakes to once again
ripple the reflection of life forging ahead
for now the oceans beckon innocent soul-laden tributaries
moving beneath clinging garbage afloat
where fractured sky
portray but shards of sun and moon
to illume the swirling residue of mirrored graveyards
old power sinks
the junk pile of corrupted armor
the legacy of deft ignorance

|I do so enjoy your form poems, Odin. I also appreciate the mirror theme in many of your pieces, especially this one's fractured surface of bended trees and flotilla. Context gives me a perception of fresh water becoming sludge, society's potential pureness junkified. Your keen social perceptions are so masterfully sculpted in your artform. ~~ Diana|

|i don't like either one of them. why? because their both politicians and i don't trust or believe a thing any one of them says. really, at this point, i have no problem with not being able to vote...however, if i had to pick a candidate, who would i endorse? me!!!!! of course(big smile!). thanks
