A poem about true friendship, inspired by knowing how it feels to lose a true friend, also hearing from someone who felt the same..

True friends are not bought or sold

Some are there when growing old

Known to us for many years

Always helping through our fears

Never judging what we do

Or whatever we’ve been through

There for us when we need

A little bit more love to feed

Even if we feel so alone

They will be there on the phone

Giving us their support

Our loneliness calls a halt

If we lose a friend so true

It’s hard to know what to do

Who do we call on now

To tell our feelings & of how

Much they mean’t to us

It would have to be one of trust

Who understands how it feels

With our loss their part it heals

A love that can’t be replaced

Back in our life traced

Remembered for all they did

When others may have run & hid

Spiritually they’re still around

Even though they make no sound

Talk to them when you need

Love & guidance they will feed

Lie down to sleep warmth you’ll feel

As they send love to help you heal

Remember all the fun you had

And forget those times of bad

Give thanks for what they did for you

Then just say I love you too

Been through a loss recently, not fun, but this poem says it all, cept he won't say I love you no more and neither will i to him. It'vs over sadly true.

Very lyrical and pleasing to read. The only way to lose a real friend is for them to die.
