Art, "Pensive" By Susan Rios

By La Belle Rouge

I thought to myself...
I want to kiss him
No...I need to kiss him
and if I don’t
I will go to my grave
imagining the taste of his lips
the warmth of his breath
infusing my lungs with life

does he think parallel thoughts
and feel such need of me?
does he imagine the scent
of my perfume
borne on midnight breezes
the tracing of my hands
my lips lingering softly
against his fevered skin?

so distant, yet intimately near
his heart brushes against mine
and whispers the loving words
his lips dare not utter
forbidden but beautiful love
warms my frozen midnights
budding in night shadows
blooming crimson in darkness

such thoughts, aching thoughts
never far from my mind
deep longings of body and soul
I need to kiss him
I make no apology for my hunger
and I wonder in the darkness
famished for love, is he hungry too?
does he crave my lips tonight?

this has that so near and yet so far
feel and atmosphere, it tantalises
and promises and yet is unfulfilled;
on the brink theme and completely beautiful

"Deep longings of body and soul." Your words of love and longing jump off the page right into the heart of anyone who has ever felt so deeply of love and wondering... can he feel my thoughts from a distance? You have but to look into his eyes to receive your answer. Oh, La Belle, your post certainly does put me "in the mood."

The image alone makes me think of City of Angels, Belle, and your soul-stirring smooth expressions of such abiding sentiment makes the fur of my own heart purr, as well. Totally for real and overwhelmingly delicious, as always. xx

Ah, you write so perfectly of the beautiful sensuality we rarely let ourselves feel although we so need it. This is exquisite, Belle.

Men pretty much think between their hips, so I suspect he's hungry for your lips -- minimum.

Oh my, La Belle, you have brought a secret longing to another level. WOW! I have to wonder, though, if men may take this differently than a woman would. Either way it's (#.$(g-rated)) magnificent.
