The trick- or- treating was now done
Costumes hung up pajamas on
Tucked safe in bed the children slept
While villagers their gath'ring kept
Someone had noticed something there
Word traveled making all aware
An ominous sight on the hill
Hushed silence fell and all stood still
A shadow of a man was seen
Upon that full mooned Halloween
Draped in his arms what seemed to be
A body hanging limpedly
The villagers gazed on in awe
At this shadow show which they saw
As slowly this mysterious goon
Offered the body to the moon
Suddenly one dark cloud came by
Hiding that full moon in the sky
Causing a darkness on that night
Hiding the shadow show from sight
Fin'ly the cloud had past and lo
All evidence of that strange show
Was gone and all those gathered 'round
Stared towards the ridge making no sound
The villagers unto this day
Go on with life and will not say
A word about what each had seen
Upon that full mooned Halloween
