Peridot Eyes Part 2
By La Belle Rouge

So as they danced he asked her name
and she whispered “I am called, Twilight”
He knew his life would never be the same
Holding her near in the dance felt so right
As her soft body leaned into his embrace
he thought, Ah yes a woman of bold desire
He must whisk her from this crowded place
where his lips could stir her smoldering fire
“Where did you get those two jeweled eyes
and that porcelain skin so smooth, so fair?”
“Oh, if you knew you would be surprised
so I shall never reveal to you from where”
“You are the fairest my eyes have spied”
“Be cautious Sir, Twilight has a dark side

When daylight flees and shadows creep
through windowsills and into your heart
it’s then you toss and cannot find sleep
after Twilight, ominous nightmares start”
“No, My Sweet, you are an angelic dream
my soul has searched for high and low”
“Sir, dreams are not always as they seem
I give you fair warning and now you know
If I am indeed your dream, take me home”
He thought himself most fortunate of men
she said “ Cold night we won’t spend alone”
She obviously also desired to be with him
“Now you are warned so what will you do;
go home with me tonight or I with you?”

darkness molds the mysteries of imaginations and colors them with bated anticipation and lust - 'Peridot Eyed' know the paths seeded
with deception - and your last line is surely a truthful outcome in
the majority of her encounters, " now you are warned so what will you do; go home with me tonight or I with you" - spell bounding and bewitching Belle - black and exciting are the colors of your ink -- I wish you love and peace my dear friend - Jon Michael

What a phenomenal write La Belle
I can't add much more than the others
already have...

"“No, My Sweet, you are an angelic dream
my soul has searched for high and low”
“Sir, dreams are not always as they seem
I give you fair warning and now you know
If I am indeed your dream, take me home”

Fair warning yes? :)

You are a spinner of tales through poetry. You keep the reader hooked, delightfully, to find out what sinister thing Twilight might do or be. Good work! Be well, Kathy

. . . and the saga grows. The plot thickens. Naivety and the dark are poised to find themselves on a roller-coaster ride to be all roller-coaster rides. Let 'er rip!

You have the knack to combine the senuous and the "twilight" and with just a hint of danger.
Nice combination!
