A Tribute to those working through the healing processes on their way to becoming Survivors of Abuse

"Each day, we struggle to remain committed in our attempts to heal from the still-lingering emotional pain,
endured during our traumatic childhood abuse

As Adults, we can finally allow ourselves to grieve and mourn over the incredible loss
of our stolen childhood innocence and mis-guided trusts

As we learn to Acknowledge, that as Defensive Children,
we were not to blame for our Abuse,

and that as Adults, we are now responsible
for how we allow our pain to define us as individuals

As we learn how to Accept our Pain for what it is,
what it was,
and how it has negatively affected our lives',

We must learn to offer our Forgiveness
to those who have done us wrong,
so that we can move on from it

In learning to recognize
the self-destructive patterns

Of our recently troubled pasts,
We must also learn to acknowledge

The difficult challenges
That still lie ahead
In our recovery process

And so it is,
In our continued Pursuit of Peace,
That we must learn to Believe in Ourselves,

So that we may gain the Courage
To face our greatest of fears,

And the Strength, To endure
Our Life-long Healing Process

So that we may one day soon,
Complete our Transition

From the Abused, Abandoned, and Broken-Spirited Children
That we once were in our painful past,

Into the Caring, Compassionate, and Well-Adjusted Survivors
That we were meant to become."
