You Haunt This Soul

You told your story
I ingested it
Your truthfulness
Was my regret

Every night
As I laid alone
My emotions
Are let go

You haunt this soul
With memories past
Dreams that are vivid
And sublime

We met in a meadow
Of wildflowers
Kissed with a gentleness
I had never known

Baring all-
Including the love we'd partaken
You were forever in my presence
Yet my being knew the difference

Yes, although one I had loved with all my heart was in my presence, he wasn't really "with me". Baring all can wound mortally!

Love ya!
