I Saw Superman

Really I did...

I saw Superman today.

He gave a lady the difference in change

that she didn’t have with her.

I saw Superman hold a door for someone and greet them with hello

and a caring smile!

Superman was waiting at home

for me tonight.

He made a special surprise dinner

after a long day at work.

People ask where was Super Man

at the Twin Towers?

He was the fireman, policeman,

everyday people who

saw a need and went to the rescue.

Superman is fighting overseas right

now for our country.

If you open your eyes and look

around you will see,

Superman everywhere.

Superwoman too…

This poem is not meant to support any particular agenda but to encourage the inocent from infants in the womb to children, teens, young adults, both men and women, the retired and beyond. Thank you all for your comments and I hope you will continue to meet needs with kind noble deeds in your world.

I saw Superman too, when he was in a wheelchair, just like me, advocating for stem cell research when religious zealots were resisting all efforts. Unfortunately, he lost his race for life, and I must carry on the crusade for a cure for spinal cord injury.

A thoughtful write that everyone should read.

I love this! Superman is in all of our hearts. As a memory and as a hero who might be one among many things that drive us to be helpful, even to our detriment. How clever of you to see him from this point of view. And a huge and happy thanks to all the Supermen and women out there! Be well, Kathy
