I Saw The Moon Explode Last Night

VERSE 1
I saw the moon explode last night
Splintered shards of silver strewn across the sky
Can't say for certain how it came to happen
It's hard to see with shattered moonbeams in your eye

VERSE 2
The stars went into hiding as well
Out of sympathy I guess who can really know
A show of stellar solidarity and compassion
For a friend noone had thought would ever go

CHORUS
And the evening is growing deeper now
If the stars return they'll make their entrance soon
Warm and calm it's a night to find romance
But I'm afraid I don't expect to see
Expect to see the moon

VERSE 3
The effects are still mostly unknown
They say the tides are lost but that's OK
It only makes the sea less unpredictable
And I was never one for the beach scene anyway

CHORUS
And the evening is growing deeper now
If the stars return they'll make their entrance soon
Warm and calm it's a night to find romance
But I'm afraid I don't expect to see
Expect to see the moon

VERSE 4
Kids comb the woods for souvenirs
Ignoring reports of unspecified lunar danger
I'd like a piece myself with a footprint perhaps
A reminder that she wasn't a total stranger

CHORUS
And the evening is growing deeper now
If the stars return they'll make their entrance soon
Warm and calm it's a night to find romance
But I'm afraid I don't expect to see
Expect to see the moon

Set to music at Best Cellar. A better listen than just a read. Least, I think so......

I am thrilled that I read this b/c it lead me to the music. It reminds me so much of 'The Moody Blues' my god this is friggin' beautiful, mournful, I gotta have it.

Really Bob, I am impressed. Thank you so much. I hope that you two are selling CD's. I still have to plough around the music site but I have to say, it's like a blast from the past. (one that I love)
