The Vagabond

They say I'm just a Vagabond
I guess maybe they're right
I've been all kinds of places
I've traveled this world wide

I've met all kinds of people
Throughout my yesterdays
But don't feel sorry for me friends
I could live no other way

I fell in love with a pretty girl
She soon became my wife
We built a little cottage
And settled down for life

Then one day she ran away
I was better off they said
She'd left for me a message
And this is how it read

Once I thought I loved you
Till I met this other man
My love for him is greater
I hope you'll understand

It's better that we drift apart
Cause I can't live a lie
I'm sorry and forgive me
I love you and good - bye

I quickly sold my business
I didn't want our home
I couldn't stand the misery
So I started out to roam

Till God takes me to Heaven
Way up there in the sky
I guess I'll be a VAGABOND
Until the day I die

A Lonely Vagabond Going Nowhere!
