The echo of your voice
is now a whisper,
endless passing years
pushing me further and further away
from the memory of your essence.
The vision of your image
at times so close
into the dimension of the apparition
to find you and bring you back into my arms.
You stand there
emerging from the darkness
like a ray of sunlight

|Okay, I cried. This is heart rending stuff!
I had a scare last Saturday, but it woke me up. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my other half. That made me realize just exactly what you wrote.

|I'm still crying...as the tears kiss my cheek
on their downared climb, every time I recall the words/emotion/finality of your beautiful poem.

|We write the best pieces when we write of what we know and what we feel. "Gone Forever" is a piece that is timeless. Thank you for sharing such a private piece with a public audience.|

|as a writer of this kind of stream of conciousness verse, and having felt this way myself once, I relate to and like this. It evokes both sadness and hope as well. Good job...|
