A Cheyenne Man Died the Other Day

While I never knew this young man, I wish I had. He was the first casualty from Wyoming and one of the first during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan right after 9-11-01.
This poem is dedicated to Spec Jonn J Edmunds US Army Rangers (Deceased)

A young man died the other day
Not close to family or home but far away
He joined the Army to be the Best
He became a Ranger and was above the rest
He was there because of the attack on the twin towers
While providing backup that night to help others
He died when his helicopter crashed
Tho his lifetime on earth was short
He left his footprint for others to follow
One might wonder what made him special
He was one of a few which made him exceptional
He was an Army Ranger
