What's the harm in a little faith? |

A Rebuttal
I happened upon the following poem
“Possibilities,” by Alice Joyce Davidson.
After reprinting it here I would like
to offer a rebuttal to said verse.
“Possibilties”
The more faith you have,
The more you believe,
The more goals you set
The more you’ll achieve.
So reach for the stars,
Pick a mountain to climb,
Dare to think big,
But give yourself time.
Remember no matter
How futile things seem,
With faith, there is no
Impossible dream!
by Alice Joyce Davidson
My Rebuttal:
The more faith you have,
The more lies you believe,
The more lies you believe,
The more misery you create.
So reach for reality,
Stay off fictional mountains
They’re fraught with avalanches.
Dare to be rational
But give yourself time,
Remember no matter
How futile things seem,
With faith, they can only
Get worse.

i may be putting myself out there a bit, but i agree with much of this
..."So reach for reality,
Stay off fictional mountains
They’re fraught with avalanches.
Dare to be rational..."
After some religious abuse as a child and then much fasting, Bible reading, meditating, praying, believing, etc I have become very much a realist
