This year's sdeasonal whimsy from me is a set of parody's of traditional folk songs from Britain, with a more contemporary slant to the lyrics.
My two whacky folk singers make their second appearance with this parody of a well known song, sung all over the British Isles. If you follow the link to the midi music download you will find the real lyric too. Its a great one for singing when you've had a few. When you come to the 3 claps in the chorus do it enthusiastically, clap your hands, stamp your feet or bang your head on the table. Its guaranteed to break the ice at parties.

I became a drug dealer about twenty years back,
And made quite a fortune from Charlie and Smack.
I drove a black Merc. and had women galore,
Now its never I'll be a drug dealer no more

CHORUS
And its no, nay, never (clap clap clap)
No nay never no more
Will I play the drug dealer
No never no more

The cops took an interest, I was under the hammer
And had no great wish to spend years in the slammer,
Bought a house in Orlando, moved my assets offshore
And its never I'll play the drug dealer no more

CHORUS
And its no, nay, never (clap clap clap)
No nay never no more
Will I play the drug dealer
No never no more

I married a lap dancer, we had several kids
And I never breathed word of the things I once did
My neighbours respect me, a fine citizen
Who would not know a crack house from an opium den

CHORUS
And its no, nay, never (clap clap clap)
No nay never no more
Will I play the drug dealer
No never no more

REPEAT CHORUS

And its no, nay, never (clap clap clap)
No nay never no more
Will I play the drug dealer
No never no more

Other folk song parodies in this series:
Seeking Asylum
The Drug Dealer
A Gypsy Rover

Follow the link below for a midi music (tiny filesize) download of "The Wild Rover" a drinking song found all over the British Isles.Right click the song title on the page and click "Save Target As".
And when you are singing this at your party (my lyric or the real one), really give it plenty of gusto OK.
