Conservative Poet Tom Zart's = D - Day WWII (Poetry) - 6/5/2009 8:35:26 PM
D-DAY THE WALL Over two hundred rangers scaled "The Wall" A stone cliff over one hundred feet tall. Some of them made it all the way to the top While others fell and perished from their drop. Those who climbed over, had answered God's call For men to stop evil once and for all. They fought the Germans and destroyed their guns To save the lives of our fathers and sons. So many years have passed since then When our world's future was saved by brave men. We cannot forget the hell they went through Before the skies, again turned blue. By Tom Zart

This is lovely. I like how it brings to mind the Blessed Mother, particularly in the 4th stanza, as well as the image of the Lily bringing to mind both her, Jesus and the resurrection, making this timely as well as being a loving poem to the most important person in your life. Good work, Tom-it keeps the beat and rhyme as well, also a good thing besides the feeling and heart of the poem.

Conservative poet Tom Zart's = Poets Are The Bell Ringers of The Soul (Poetry) - 3/10/2009 10:44:13 AM
Hi. I love poetry. But I've not been trained in it so I'm a little ... Well, anyway, just wanted to tell you I graduated high school from Manhattan High in 1964. My husband has a poem on our poetry section about a universal soldier, you may enjoy. Indeed, poets "have their dreams and their nightmares."
