You're absolutely right. I spent a few years in depression until I realized that trying to hide my disability was not working and that I had to use it to my benefit. I had a conversation yesterday with a woman who has been in a terrible relationship that is sucking the lifeblood from her. Until I can get her to put her foot down and stop giving into a pathological bloodsucker that she is inexplicably subject to, she will continue to be miserable and broke.
Noticing Abundance (Article) - 1/5/2008 12:08:26 AM
What a very inspiring article! Thanks for the reminder- truly we have "been given fullness in Christ(Colossians 2:10)" and "His divine power has given us EVERYTHING WE NEED FOR LIFE and godliness..."(2 Peter 1:3
that we should "set our hearts on things above not on earthly things" (Colossians 3:2). Thanks to God Who loves us and provides for our needs in ways that we do not expect and gives everyday miracles to delight us with His presence. We may not have the ipods and the latest laptops but NOTHING MISSING NOTHING LACking. "SHALOUM"
God with us!!!

That is a beautiful and inspirational article and life experience. It's so much nicer to focus on our strengths and ignore the debilating thoughts that come from that social consciousness that tells us we can't do certain things because of this, that or a bunch of other things. That whole thing about to old, to fat, to skinny, to weak, to rich, to poor, to shy, to aggressive . . . and the list goes on, is paid too much attention in this society. Any example of overcoming those silly notions is welcomed in my life. Thank you.

Good article. I have a feng shui home. When people walk in they always comment on how relaxing and comfortable the atmosphere is. I learned about feng shui when I worked in the Orient many years ago.
Guilty Till Proven Innocent (Article) - 3/22/2004 6:00:11 PM
I think all molestors should never see the light of day again and plea bargaining in this country is a sad joke.
Guilty Till Proven Innocent (Article) - 3/18/2004 5:04:02 AM
Strong, powerful message here, Donna. I am one of the ones who helped put her own father behind bars, for the years of abuse, (physical, sexual and violent) that he forced on me and my siblings as well as my mother. The system does work, when need be. But, I also agree with you, that many innocent people have had their lives disrupted and put in turmoil, because of an angry child and overzealous child protection agency. True investigations need to be a must! And all the facts need to be put in perspective. I believe that if a child confides that there is some type of abuse occurring in the household, the offender should be removed from the home, until a further, more in depth, investigation, is made. A REPUTABLE child counselor should be brought in (a true counselor, I would hope, should be able to weed out normal contact with a child as opposed to inappropriate and life damaging abuse). I do not believe someone should be taken away in handcuffs and thrown in a jail cell until there is proper proof and validation of the charges.
I'm sorry for all that your family has been put through, Donna. I truly hope that things work out.
