Sign of the Anasazi (Book) - 4/9/2010 4:24:47 AM
This science fiction story catches the reader immediately with suspense and a cast of characters is introduced right away. The suspense builds as this story unfolds telling a bit of the character's tale, stopping in just the right spot and letting the reader hang; similar to the way a movie will shift scenes or the television show cuts to commercial so you are wondering what happens next. Marc Lieberman did a wonderful job in keeping the reader aware of the location of this cast of people, as many were introduced quickly for me, it was a tiny bit confusing to keep track of who was whom until the events began to play out and it lasted only a couple chapters. The chapters were short, and this is a quick fun read if you want to escape today's events and love a good 'Roswell' story. The story captured me right away, I was in suspense at what was happening to the main character, and as the events played out, I was hooked! Just as with any good 'X-file', I loved the creativity that went into this story, yet it seemed to me a few things needed more development or explanation, as I wanted to know more about a few characters, but that is my preference. It felt like the story wrapped up a bit quickly, but it was not the ending I expected either. There were some good twists and turns, and there are possibilities for the reader to ponder. Lieberman proves an interesting tale of conspiracy, which leads to kidnapping, assault and murder. Dr. Aaron's daughter must try to reunite with her long lost father by using special clues he sends along the way to her, allowing them to meet for what could be one last time. Little do they realize that those they should trust are not exactly on their side. However, they inherit a group of allies along the way. All of these people have their agenda, but it all aligns in the same time and place with much action and thrilling suspense. There is a second installment which includes some of these characters and their new friends and I would indeed look forward to reading it as I did enjoy this story and a few of the delightfully fun people introduced, but I especially enjoyed the 'pet' bears used with a sense of protection and their caretaker.
