Very well done, Cheryl. I could feel this man's intense longing as he seemed to lose his hold on reality and fall deeper and deeper into his forbidden desires. The last paragraph is very potent and telling, as his wife asks, "Think we beat the heat wave?" You get a sense that though it is over, it is not, and never really will be. Very insightful.
