There is a connection for everyone. When I was little, my dad told some of these stories at family events. Now, as a teacher, I am always encouraging my students to make connections with the stories they read. I can tell you that you, too, will connect with at least one story or experience within a story. There's probably a "Grover" in your town too. Enjoy. Great job, Dad!

Touching and funny, many of Bob's stories resonate with my own memories of growing up in a close rural comminity. It was like a spoonful of whatever "Gram's got cookin' on the stove for sunday dinner" on every page.

People ask me, "What kind of book is According to Grover?" Is it history? No. Is it Fiction? Sort of. Is it humor? Maybe. Even as I wrote the book I didn't know the answer to that question. Now that the book has been published, I believe it is best described as a country love song without music. The music is in the memories.
