A wonderful inspirational story, Joyce. I've had similar experiences with "God holding back the rain."
Sometimes when working in my yard, I've felt big rain drops and I start praying, "God, please don't let it rain until I finish mowing this yard."
If this had only happened once, I wouldn't mention it, but it has happened so many times I can't count. And guess what, God held back the rain until I finished each of these times, but the minute I put away my lawn mower and lawn tools, the rain poured down.
