Hemingway's Later Life & Secret Manuscripts Are Uncovered (Article) - 4/24/2004 8:54:39 PM|
The artifacts found in this basement are one of the greatest discoveries of my lifetime. To me, they are on a par with the Dead Sea Scrolls. I am so proud of the Cubans for preserving them. They did Papa proud. Especially now, this many years later, they are vital. I hope the scholars who have access do everything they can to preserve and distribute these precious artifacts. I hope they find some new fiction and that Patrick allows it to be published.
One tiny note on the article: Men Without Women was a collection of short stories, not a novel.
Hemingway's Later Life & Secret Manuscripts Are Uncovered (Article) - 1/17/2003 6:45:48 AM
Very nice article,, it does show us that he,
Hemingway, was a normal man,, doing everyday
things as we all do,, Yet had a incredable gift for writting... Part of him lives in you
upstate New York, U.S.A.
Hemingway's Later Life & Secret Manuscripts Are Uncovered (Article) - 12/22/2002 11:28:10 PM
what a find.
All of these lost treasures, in addition to other
personal items of daily living, which included
laundry bills and bar tabs. Help us to undertand
Hemingway the man, as well as Hemingway the
noted author, and shows us exactly how he
lived his mysterious life in Cuba.

True Love Knows (Poetry) - 12/22/2002 11:31:04 PM

reserved for two. These
eyes can distinguish what is a lie and what's true.

The Gift Of Write (Poetry) - 12/4/2002 4:38:32 PM
I love it. You captured it so Hallmarkily ;) (*word I made up*). It's very true, the whole poem. I like Karla's saying because it's really true.
For me, it can no longer be on paper through a journal in my "olden" days (a few years ago when I was all of what, thirteen?) and so now I MUST have my laptop or Palm Pilot with me because if not, there is no way I can express it fast enough!! Sometimes I can use pen/cil for writing, but only if that's all I have. I write a poem so quickly, like many others, my hand isn't fast enough!! But I love this poem because it not only gives the true meaning of the gift for us fellow writers and authors, but it also depicts the history of the writing, pen and paper, and how it feels. A writer in the 17th century compared to one now only differs in style :)
The Gift Of Write (Poetry) - 12/4/2002 3:04:23 PM

The Gift Of Write (Poetry) - 12/4/2002 2:54:54 PM
Julie, writing can be so powerful. For me, it is completely involuntary. I hold tightly my thoughts and emotions, having them spill onto the page only when my will and my grip cannot hold back the tide.
The Gift Of Write (Poetry) - 12/4/2002 2:46:19 PM

Always Feel The Love (Poetry) - 11/23/2002 9:47:18 PM
Love is linear in direction and constant in its motion. It would be bliss to remain on specific points within that line and explore all the tangents that radiate from there. I, for one, shall always seek to linger in the anomolies of that line so that I shall always feel the love.

A Tale Of Two Hearts (Poetry) - 11/18/2002 9:47:27 AM
