Jihad War Declared (Poetry) - 1/18/2005 10:40:00 PM
It appears there isn't much thinking on either side of this immoral war launched by Bush. Historically, religion has been at the root of much bloodshed; not much chance of that changing anytime soon.

good write!

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 8:17:26 AM
If you are a traitor, my dear, so am I, and a majority of Americans. Read my poem Bubba, the Not So Great, and you'll see what I mean. You keep praying and standing up for your beliefs, that what America's freedom is.

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 8:13:39 AM
You are not alone: Former US president Jimmy Carter, this year's Nobel Peace Prize winner, called Friday for DISARMAMENT BY THE UNITED STATES, which has taken the lead in urging such countries as North Korea and Iraq to destroy their weapons of mass destruction. "One of the things that the United States government has not done is to try to comply with and enforce international efforts targeted to prohibit the arsenals of BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS THAT WE OURSELVES HAVE," Carter said. Will these uninformed critics now call a former President a Traitor, too?

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 6:44:31 AM
Dear Thelma, You are not a traitor by any means.Peace is always the way to go. Read the sermon on the mount. Jesus said it was so. ty tony

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 5:58:47 AM
good write! one of the conscepts of British democracy that the American democracy never incorporated was that of "Her Majesty's Loyal Opposition". The existance of the Opposition in parliament reminds us that the loyal citizen may legitimately oppose the government w/o being called a "traitor". this is a good write john+

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 5:57:19 AM
lets hope and pray, Thelma that this war never materialises - wonderful write!

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 5:10:51 AM
I think a peaceful solution is the only solution. Great write.

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 5:10:23 AM
You keep praying Thelma. I do feel however only time will tell if this is a just war, if we are truly committed to liberating the Iraqi people, and we stay the course, you will see Iran's population liberate themselves from their religious leaders, and the could follow several others in the region. A very close friend of mine e mailed me that they have had to turn thousands of Iraqi soldiers back who tried to surrender even before the war has started, also, in Iran, that the people are armed and ready to take back their country. Pray for peace and freedom.

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 5:03:15 AM
Thelma, good write. I'm with you. Peace Not War. It is just great that we have the freedom to express our own opinions without reprocussions. Many are not afforded that priviledge.

Labeled A Traitor (Poetry) - 3/13/2003 4:53:45 AM
Seeking the best solution is always the way and trusting in God is absolutely the best way of all...

Will Our Leaders Cry (Poetry) - 3/10/2003 7:52:51 AM
All declarations of war are signed by pens dipped in the ink of blood of the innocent mixed with old men's feelings impotance.

Will Our Leaders Cry (Poetry) - 3/10/2003 6:26:24 AM
Our worlds leaders have long since sold their souls to the devil! And will defenantly be the last ones to shead a tear! Excellent write!

Will Our Leaders Cry (Poetry) - 3/10/2003 4:48:51 AM
A deep, powerful write. Excellent.

Will Our Leaders Cry (Poetry) - 3/10/2003 4:29:55 AM
Thelma, excellent write. To answer your questions, I believe our leaders are sincere. It would take a heartless person not to have feelings and I don't believe they fit the bill. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe in war. Sometimes it is the only way to assure the safety of all.58,000 men and women gave their lives in the Viet Nam Conflict. This is a war that we should have never got involved in. I believe many deaths could have been avoided if there was a reason. " Where there is a reason there is a way." We will all pray that our leaders make the right decisions and that peace is found instead of war.

Will Our Leaders Cry (Poetry) - 3/10/2003 3:50:23 AM
Powerful and so profound. This one points fingers in ink. Peg

We Heard This Before (Poetry) - 3/9/2003 9:34:55 AM
Dear Thelma - sorry I missed this earlier - I just posted to your new work, including a reference to the "Indians." Bush snubs treaties galore - Kyoto, germ warfare, anti-ballistic, comprehensive test ban treaty, land mine treaty, and refuses to join an international court of justice, because the USA should be immune to criticism from the rest of the world !!! I hang my head in shame over this country's leadership.

Proud In God (Poetry) - 3/9/2003 9:28:00 AM
First, thanks for being a voice of reason. I watched the entire UN meeting on March 7, and the weapons inspectors found nothing of a threat to America - except that the documents used against Iraq (submitted by the UK/US intelligence) which were to prove that they pursued nuclear arms were FORGERIES ! They are being framed. They are damned if they do, and damned if they don't. The war of aggression has already started by US Marines inside the DMZ between Kuwait and Iraq, in violation of UN rules. For three days, allies have attacked Iraq, aiming to leave them more defenseless when the US/UK begin their illegal invasion in full. Just like in my youth, when watching the cowboys and Indians - my sympathies go out to the innocent victims in Iraq. This is an outrage that will not bring peace, safety, or security to the world. It will only help maintain the US lifestyle, which consumes 45 % of the world's nonrenewable resources. We are supposed to be proud of America (currently reigning god of weapons and money-backed bribes.)

Our Country`s Honor (Poetry) - 3/9/2003 9:24:56 AM
Thank you, Thelma, for being a true and brave patriot.

We Heard This Before (Poetry) - 3/9/2003 8:20:49 AM
An American commentator from the pro - war camp said on British TV this week "History never repeats itself." He is right in the way a lawyer twistying words is right. Those who do not learn from histoy's mistakes are condemned to repeat them. It wes our British govenment in 1918 that first messed up the area now called Iraq and set this whole thing in train. This is a fine anti-war poem

Proud In God (Poetry) - 3/9/2003 8:16:19 AM

Oh Thelma so much truth. Im telling my age I was to young for Kent state my cousin a few years older went there and she told me the tales of peac. This is excellent. War has been since the dawns time but I hate war and rebel at the thought of it. I'll get stoned for that one. Hugs Peg

Our Country`s Honor (Poetry) - 3/5/2003 10:39:19 AM
i was in the air force. i would gladly go to defend my country if i had to. given the chance, i wouldn't want to go...i think this was is immoral...why? because daddy bush didn't get his man, junior bush wants to take revenge..."revenge is mine," saith the Lord...outstanding sentiments, thelma...keep writing, maybe if enough of us write, and pray for peace, this war might not have to happen...(((HUGS))) and love, karla. :(

Thelma, I could never call you un-American for sharing your doubts. We all have doubts about the coming war. It is hard for me to take a stand. There are always two sides to every story. I am just riding the waves hoping we are doing the right thing. God bless you for expressing your opinion. Keep it up. Bill

Our Country`s Honor (Poetry) - 3/5/2003 6:50:21 AM
Nice piece of writing. I am anti-war also. It seems our country has to always fight for someone else. WW2 against Germaney to help England and France. In korea it was there civil war. In Nam we covered the french's butts again. I have an idea if the war is not about oil. Why should not Isreal fight there own war. JMO ty tony

Our Country`s Honor (Poetry) - 3/5/2003 6:26:42 AM

Thelma, my thoughts and prayers go out to the families and the victim. It is an unprecedented tragedy. I live on the R.I./MA. border and know a few of the souls who were lost that day. May God be with them.

A Fire From Hell (Poetry) - 3/3/2003 3:36:53 AM
I too dear Thelma have the same prayer. What a terrible fire, killing 97 and many serious injuries; apparently because the owners chose to purchase flamable material inside of the fire retardant kind, cause it cost more. Just a little more money and thoughts of their customers would have saved many lives. What a shame! Bill
