The Pacific South States of Mexico (Mexico: Our Southern Neighbor) (Book) - 10/29/2003 5:28:11 PM
School Library Journal Gr 5-8-The states of Mexico, grouped by region, are the focus of these titles. Each one opens to a colorful map of the area and the same three-page overview of the country's history and culture. Separate chapters examine the land including discussions of location and climate; the history; the economy and resources; holidays, festivals, and traditions; and cities and communities. Discussions of specific place names are included, but there are no pronunciation guides. The full-color photos throughout these books are clearly captioned, and a region-specific chronology is included in each volume. These books contain abundant facts and will be appreciated by report writers but not all libraries will need separate titles on these regions.-Sandra Welzenbach, Villarreal Elementary School, San Antonio, TX Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.
