Shall We Walk (Poetry) - 10/25/2012 7:23:30 AM
There is nothing like a walk through nature with a loved one, talking about things that matter. There's only one rule… Turn off your cell phones and no texting. Ron

Who Are They (Poetry) - 8/31/2012 3:32:42 PM
Powerful poem!!!!!!!!!!!! Liana Margiva

Who Are They (Poetry) - 8/31/2012 10:58:27 AM
I'm with you. I don't like to write about political things, but find myself writing more these days because of what I'm reading and hearing politicians are so excited about. Things like they create jobs and that women and minorities need to adhere to principles that have long been determined to be abusive. Politics has always been a stupid man's game, and was always about money, but today the power of money is overpowering and needs to be stopped in favor of people and principles. Thanks for writing your mind. I am too. My vote doesn't count for much, but I'm going to use it, not in the way that I am being coerced by negative advertising, but by what is right and good. Ron

The Other Nation (Poetry) - 7/6/2012 12:06:23 PM
There never was one nation. There were at least six hundred tribes, most decimated by disease long before their land was taken. There was always war among the tribes, but there was a good life in between, close to nature and living well within it. Thanks for writing about the other nation. Ron

The Other Nation (Poetry) - 7/6/2012 5:23:11 AM

Wisdom From Above (Poetry) - 6/26/2012 6:08:22 AM

Wisdom From Above (Poetry) - 6/25/2012 6:52:54 AM
Being his, “tool,” scares me. Sounds very much like mind control like the church does. I enjoyed your poetry what you think, not what, “his,” thinks. Ron

Wisdom From Above (Poetry) - 6/25/2012 3:13:42 AM

Reflections Again (Poetry) - 6/13/2012 9:41:00 AM
I love how peacefully you describe life on the river. I still spend very busy days working on my writing and contacts. I need to get out of town to enjoy the peace and quiet of the country. Someday, when I slow down, I want to be where you are at right now. Ron

The Night (Poetry) - 5/8/2012 8:12:49 AM
Love your phrasing in this one, Mary Etta! I guess we can all relate to sleeplessness...and how the mind creates images with every sound... Anna

The Night (Poetry) - 5/7/2012 12:00:40 PM
I can relate to this dream scene. Only this morning at 5 AM, it wasn't a dream but reality that found me on the floor, having fallen out of bed knowing it was happening. Never had that happen before and hope it doesn't again. Ron

Important To Me (Poetry) - 3/12/2012 8:27:14 AM
A great philosophy for retiring. I'm still pushing at it and probably will continue until I push right off this planet. I'm told that it's a way to live long, and I believe it. If I relaxed, I probably fall apart completely. ;-) Ron

Where Was I (Poetry) - 1/13/2012 3:31:21 AM
I think it is such a terrible shame that the only time we have to step back and truly take stock is when we are already at the wrong end of the sequence.

Where Was I (Poetry) - 1/10/2012 9:07:17 AM
"youth is wasted on the young" ... well crafted reflective journey ...

Where Was I (Poetry) - 1/9/2012 11:05:49 AM
You are describing the past so many women have taken. Unfortunately, it seems necessary for the human society to continue. I loved my youth and took full advantage of it even though I didn't marry and raise children. Where was I? Everywhere I wanted to be and I still write stories and novels based on the times I had that will never come again because those times and those situations are long past but well remembered. Ron

Where Was I (Poetry) - 1/9/2012 6:33:08 AM
I feel the same way, Mary Etta! When we were young life was so busy we never really stopped to think about how fast it was going by. And in today's world it's moving even faster....truly enjoyed this! Hugs, Anna

Where Was I (Poetry) - 1/8/2012 6:01:09 PM
Your words touch on a timeless and universal theme of this life/world, Mary Etta... ...and they provide substance to reflect upon. Thank you. Love and best wishes, Regis

Where Was I (Poetry) - 1/8/2012 5:45:17 PM
I like that elliptical restive quality about your poem and its title, its ending with everything up in the air, like... still, and all, you manage to capture a strong sense of awareness, self-confidence in a tentative kind of manner... the paradoxical ambivalence so sure of being unsure is kind of, well, cathartic... it's like that definition of faith an old psychology teacher of mine once heaved at me with a tepid temerity: faith is honest doubt... and he was right, too, in his own, glass is half-empty kind of way... to a point... where was i

Another Void (Poetry) - 12/19/2011 9:06:10 AM
My deepest condolences to you, Mary Etta! May you find solace in the friends you still have...like the one you have in me! Hugs, Anna

Another Void (Poetry) - 12/19/2011 3:10:09 AM
A powerfully expressed poem of sadness, Mary.

Another Void (Poetry) - 12/18/2011 7:32:02 AM
may the memories of your friend, the many kind words said, fill the void an absence left... and remember that wonderful Merwin poem about absence... Your absence has gone through me / like thread through a needle / Everything I do is stitched with its colour... If we only look at the seams, we miss the rich tapestry the reams of a life leaves with us until we re-embrace one another in eternity.

Another Void (Poetry) - 12/17/2011 7:18:01 PM
seems the void can have many names ...

Another Void (Poetry) - 12/17/2011 5:29:19 PM
My heart goes out to you in this time of sorrow.

Another Void (Poetry) - 12/17/2011 9:54:36 AM

If Only (Poetry) - 10/3/2011 4:44:03 AM
So much truth that we can all relate to, Mary Etta! In our youth we race headlong into the future, not taking the time to truly appreciate every day is a gift, like life is eternal....and then we come up against that wall! Looking back...can't figure out where time went....sigh.... Well done! Anna

Reflections (Poetry) - 10/2/2011 5:48:17 AM
HI MARY AND I CAN 'FEEL' WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM. I AM 66 AND CERTAINLY THERE ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE QUESTIONS...LOADS OF THEM(SMILE). BUT I TELL YOU HOW I HANDLE IT; I TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME, KNOWING THAT JESUS IS WITH ME AND THOUGH, BEING HUMAN, CERTAIN 'THINGS' CAN 'GET ON MY NERVES', I TRY NOT TO QUESTION... ANYMORE. I TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD, THE HAPPY WITH THE SAD BECAUSE I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT I AM JUST WHERE GOD WANTS ME TO BE AND HE'S GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT I AM ALL RIGHT. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Through the Night (Poetry) - 1/8/2011 11:57:41 AM
A strong unifying image sustains this compelling lyric well. May your heart always guide you aright, though a 'chilly breath shows through the night'... Puts one to mind of the long, dark night of the soul. Thank you for sharing this, Mary Etta. I enjoyed the mood as much as the sentiment, and the sense that though the night may be cruel, our heart will prevail. Much peace. Roger

For Every Joy (Poetry) - 12/24/2010 3:22:48 PM
Oh how I can understand this! I list my mother on the day before Christmas in 1977. Sometimes Christmas is more meaningful when we let a deep "I love you" drip from our tears before letting joy take the rest of the day.

For Every Joy (Poetry) - 12/24/2010 2:06:47 PM
Such meaningful sentiments Mary Etta; I am sure many can relate. My mom chose to leave this world early of her own accord; I wonder how different things might have been as well. Still, I am sure your dad hears you, as my mom hear me too. Love, peace, and best wishes, Regis
