Very good poem, James

Sand (Poetry) - 5/7/2010 6:57:52 PM
Whimsically compelling and lovely, Jim. I could not help but think about the latest oil disaster (symbol of chaos in this word) and such a contrast to your lovely beach. Thank you for sharing this gift. Love and peace to you, Regis

Alone (Poetry) - 4/10/2010 6:44:33 PM
I think there is much most relevant truth in what you express in this poem, Jim. Sometimes when I look in the mirror, I am surprised at the face that looks back at me because that is not the way I see myself. Thank you, friend. Love and peace to you, Regis

Those Places More Gentle (Poetry) - 3/26/2010 5:54:01 PM
Love those "gentler things" we need more of in life. If gentle did as gentle does there'd be less pain and strife.

Once a Voice (Poetry) - 3/11/2010 6:32:22 PM
Can we ever truly find True Love? This is a very good question, Jim. I'm not sure that we can in this life/dimension. I know I have given a piece of my soul to many maidens and sometimes, I feel a little weakened. Still, I never give up. I guess I am a romantic fool. Your verses "speak" to my soul. Thank you, friend. Love and peace, Regis

Been there and done that! Many times we put ourselves in a dark place, and wait for that someone, or something, to rescue us, when the easiest thing for us to do is to just step out of it. Sandie Angel :o)

Flame (Poetry) - 2/20/2008 11:34:22 AM
This speaks a universal truth, Jim; and I can very much relate to what you express here. Sadly, I do not think many find this elusive "love" to which most of us are addicted. We think we've found it only to lose it again. Someone else sees too much in us and... ...well, you know what I mean. Thank you for sharing, my friend. Love and best wishes to you, Regis

Love is the deepest emotion anyone can ever feel. Wonderful poem.

Flame (Poetry) - 1/29/2008 10:09:35 AM
James this is a beautiful and intense poem. I think our hearts usually rule our minds in matters of love, I honestly don't know which way is better. Love is so esoterical it's hard to cage it in with bars of the mind. Lovely work.

A Winter's Solstice (Poetry) - 12/30/2007 6:59:48 AM
Wow! This poem is jam-packed with vibrant, colorful, nearly palpable images of life. Interestingly, I read this right after reading Regis' piece "Calm before the Storm." Your poem seems to carry a similar theme of peace, safety, comfort, before an expectant return to activity. I enjoyed the somnolescent description of winter and rhythmic pace of this peace as well as the intimated hope and joy of spring to come. Well done.

My Friend One year Removed (Poetry) - 11/19/2006 10:27:52 AM
What a wonderful tribute!!! Makes you choke up. Especially those of us who are best friends with our pets. Losing one is very nearly unbearable. When my husband and I lost our little Rosie, we were so heartbroken, we didn't think we would let another bundle-of-affection-and-plsyfulness into our lives. But we have. It is the way Rosie would have wanted it!! When your grief subsides a bit, take a chance on letting another cat into your life {if you haven't already}. There is no better therapy that I know of, and there are so many animals in need of warm and loving care such as you have to give. Luv 'n' Hugs, 'Pea' <3

James there is nothing sadder than losing a dear pet and companion. It took me a year to get over the loss of my dog nips and I've never been able to replace him. Had him 14 years. So I offer you my warmest regards and understanding for what this loss means to you. The only good in it is that we have the memory of being fortunate to have such a fine pet.
