Arcadian Desire (Poetry) - 11/30/2013 11:03:55 PM
I was going to suggest that you take the path less traveled by
but my better half reminded me that someone had already taken that
line. Yeah, but it's such a good line. Take it anyway.
Arcadian Desire (Poetry) - 11/29/2013 7:23:16 AM
A wonderful philosophy of life expressed.
Fire of tomorrow (Poetry) - 11/26/2013 10:17:13 PM
Deep poetic thoughts inside these words. I used to feel this way but now I cannot relate. Yes, I certainly left my past behind. Thank God!
Fire of tomorrow (Poetry) - 11/25/2013 9:48:09 AM
There is something primal about this poem. When every day brought fear of the coming night and every dawn brought new opportunity to survive.
Fire of tomorrow (Poetry) - 11/25/2013 7:44:12 AM
It took me many years to deal with my past and set it straight in my mind. I'm a freer man for it.
Rose of dishonesty (Poetry) - 11/2/2013 6:19:06 PM

Rose of dishonesty (Poetry) - 11/1/2013 8:10:40 AM
So descriptive of what we call the elusive nature of "love."

Masquerading Eyes (Poetry) - 10/16/2013 6:49:05 AM
We feel this sort of thing way before we see it- if we ever do.
And we can think people need us when they just seem to need something from us, and maybe countless others.
A scarlet sea of autumn (Poetry) - 10/14/2013 6:52:25 AM
My favourite time of year! Beautiful.
Until I'm in your arms again (Poetry) - 9/12/2013 10:14:06 AM
I love the mournful longing in your poem. So much better than someone longing for someone who is dead. Still, I hope that you can get back together.
My mother needs me right now but I can't get to see her because of my circumstances and 1100 miles between us.
Until I'm in your arms again (Poetry) - 9/11/2013 6:35:45 PM

Open Road (Poetry) - 9/5/2013 5:14:34 PM
Open road is a poetic journey. We all travel and go from one place to another, what
We do along the way can make all the difference.. Well done Dean!
Open Road (Poetry) - 9/5/2013 7:51:14 AM
Put it on autopilot and relax. I think it's called, “retirement.”
Open Road (Poetry) - 9/5/2013 7:04:06 AM
Been down that road a few times.
It seems the rat race has many interconnections.
But the search for freedom is fun...and hazardous.
A scarlet sea of autumn (Poetry) - 9/3/2013 8:16:00 AM
I agree with the other two reviewers. With a few words you have encapsulated all the beauty that is the coming of autumn and the signal of winter ahead. The simplicity, yet directness of your lines lead us through the process in a way that raises the emotions like September Song and other great poetry.
A scarlet sea of autumn (Poetry) - 9/3/2013 2:26:27 AM

Tree of Destiny (Poetry) - 5/28/2012 7:59:18 AM
Trees, they say, are the architecture of the planet. They are havens for wildlife and man when they get together and form a wood. Hope they don't turn your neck of the woods into a concrete jungle, Dean!

Wrath of nature (Poetry) - 5/16/2012 10:56:38 AM
This is not a “sonnet so dull.” Rather, it tells us what to expect in a storm to come.
Unfair Expectations (Poetry) - 3/27/2012 9:41:19 AM
We love what we love. It's one of the great truths of life.
Unfair Expectations (Poetry) - 3/26/2012 6:22:41 AM
Just as the elderly are a source of great wisdom, youth provide us with the fearless plunge into the unknown future. I see so many parents who think they can control the outcome their children will be. It is sad. My parents but no shackles on me, and I exceeded even my own expectations and my father died, very proud of me. Thanks for pointing this out to so many parents out there who think they can mold their child's destiny.
Class War (Poetry) - 3/25/2012 3:39:26 AM
Deeply felt rendering of a universal truth. Something that I find increasingly hard to accept at a time when awareness is needed.

Class War (Poetry) - 3/19/2012 11:40:04 AM
Oh well. People who have a problem with somebody not looking sharp on the outside shows a lot of their own not so pretty inside. In other words: it's their problem, not ours. :)

The love of home (Poetry) - 12/25/2011 5:49:09 PM
WE GROW UP AND MOVE ON...WE DO A LOT OF WANDERINGS IN THE PURSUIT OF 'LIFE' BUT, IN THE END...WHEN THE 'THE DUST HAS SETTLED'...THERE IS 'NO' PLACE...LIKE HOME! WELL DONE AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Free from pain (Poetry) - 11/26/2011 9:28:55 AM
You have the bully captured in your words and attitude. Understanding the weakness behind feigned power gives you the upper hand.
The only thing that bothers me is "a heart free from emotions" which doesn't sound like a very healthy solution. I'm reading it as being your own heart. I'd rather see your heart as having the qualities of self-worth (and reliance on God) that can protect you from fear.
If you mean your heart doesn't react with emotions of fear and self-hating, I can understand that.
Good subject for a good poem.
Tree of Destiny (Poetry) - 10/21/2011 12:06:11 AM
