Reading this book, you get many stories for the price of one. With every chapter we are treated to another story written by a different character while simultaneously following the story of the writing class teacher's life. The laughs pick up speed as the book progresses until at the end the reader wonders where the writing class meets so as to be able to sit in on even more entertainment.

"Escape From Mexico" is a great read. With non-stop laughs, Horton lets the reader ride shotgun during his wild Mexican adventure. The fascinating details pull you in, the hilarious and intimate dialogue holds you fast and the quick narrative pace makes for a breathless trip. Though you know, logically, he must have survived in order to have been able to write the memoir, his writing keeps you constantly on the edge of your seat wondering how he's going to make it out alive.
