Children of the wall. Mikes third book. A pleasure (if that's the right word) to read. By that I mean it was well structured and easy (regardless of my own personal aversion for Polish names) to follow. Historicaly brilliant. Factual in its telling. Homo homini lupus - and boy does that come across here. A sad,tragic period in our recent history but one that needs telling, again and again and again -. He who forgets or ignores his history is destined to repeat its mistakes. Well done Mike. Atlas D'four.

Streets of Blood,the title says it all.The Wola district of Warsaw was to become the Waffen SS killing grounds. 1,000s of residents were
dragged from their homes and murdered in the most brutal way, during the Nazi blood lust.Men,women and children,some burnt alive, others having their eyes gouged,children being disembowelled The action was revenge on a massive scale,retaliation for the Warsaw rising. Was it right for the resistence to fight back with the same brutality.

The research that went into this book opened up a new meaning for the word suffering. It took me through the darkest period of modern day history, and to think that most of the evil and sadastic cruelty to a several races happened in the decade I was born.
