Determination (Short Story) - 8/30/2013 7:49:36 AM
Don't mean to make the joke here, but if you cooked like that and never was to cook again, I am definitely NOT visiting you unless you guarantee that we go OUT to dinner...(now that I read part one, you know I got to read the other parts...) e

Humility (Short Story) - 2/3/2013 11:54:23 AM
A few of us have noticed there is another poetess here who likes to steal your ideas. I'm not surprised, you're very good. So yes a compliment to you even though it isn't her intent we're sure.
Humility (Short Story) - 2/3/2013 4:38:02 AM
To (have to) steal ideas from others is childish, pathetic and unworthy for someone who calls him or herself a writer. Or maybe I have to turn it around, in that case you're unworthy to use the name writer.
Although it's a compliment when others steal your ideas I hope that your beautiful and original ideas are spared from being copied by others. and I hope this article will be read by those who lower themselves to do this.
Good that you denounce this subject Carol
Humility (Short Story) - 2/3/2013 4:33:44 AM
they are there it is too obvious not to see them for what they are
Humility (Short Story) - 2/2/2013 8:18:11 PM
Oh, how I know about "sharks". They are out there alright! They have no shame, Carol. They are parasites.
Humility (Short Story) - 2/2/2013 6:23:50 PM
I hope no one has stolen from your beautiful poetry...
Humility (Short Story) - 2/2/2013 2:49:19 PM
Okay. Something has happened to cause you to pen this "short story." I'll not inquire what that something may have been, I shall only say write what you know, and if they steal from you they have stolen a part of you, but the best part of you is the part they do not, and never will, know. I've been fortunate in that I have never seen anyone with the slightest bit of my writing in their posts. It could be the writing thieves find nothing of mine worth the theft of, in that case I can smile and say . . . "Good."
The Light on the Wall (Short Story) - 1/10/2013 11:03:01 AM

The Gift (Short Story) - 12/10/2012 3:26:14 AM
This story emphasizes what a wonderful person you are.
You’re born with a beautiful gift and use it to help everyone in need indiscriminately.
Whatever people say or do to you, your love never fades away.
You’re a white soul with a golden heart Carolee
Take good care of yourself, we love you
The Gift (Short Story) - 12/9/2012 7:54:01 PM
What a wonderful emotional story and how you overcame all that happened to you. You are a gift and I believe all this to be true
An interlude (Poetry) - 12/13/2013 10:26:15 AM
I have always loved music and singing and that is why I have enjoyed being a member of a local choir for several years. I lost my enjoyment of music and song about a year ago - a year of hell. Thank you for sharing this lovely offering, Carol. Love, peace, and best wishes to you,
Abyss of Sorrows (Poetry) - 12/13/2013 10:23:04 AM
But pain watches you like a hawk
Who swoops in tearing your flesh
A most effective simile. I know the kind of pain that you describe via your verses in this poem, Carolee; I am intimate with it, sadly. Love and best wishes,
A Snowflake (Poetry) - 12/13/2013 10:17:55 AM
I like the manner in which you use metaphor, simile, and symbolism to put forth your theme. Well done, Carol. Love, peace, and best wishes,
A Picture on the Pillow (Poetry) - 12/13/2013 10:15:17 AM
It is very sad that humans (Earthians) have learned nothing over thousands of years when it comes to war and peace and deaths continue to mount in numbers year after year. My empathy to you, Carol. Love and best wishes,
A Painter (Poetry) - 12/13/2013 10:12:35 AM
I appreciate the theme that you have shared through this metaphorical write that flows very smoothly. Thank you for sharing, Carol. Love and best wishes,
A Page before her King (Poetry) - 12/12/2013 10:28:11 AM
"Old English" is certainly not my favorite manner of communicating but I believe I understand the theme you are sharing via your verses here, Carolee (Carol). In any case, it is a fine tribute to someone you respect. Thank you for sharing. Love and best wishes to you,
A Memoir (Poetry) - 12/12/2013 10:23:40 AM
It seems as though I experienced this just yesterday and somehow, through no wish nor fault of my own, I have lost it. Your verses awaken bittersweet sorrow (and hint of joy). Thank you for sharing this gift, Carol. Love and best wishes to you,
A Guide (Poetry) - 12/10/2013 12:59:02 PM
This is fine reaffirmation and a great reminder. As for me, I honestly do not know where I would be today if angels had not saved me time and time again (even from myself). Thank you, Carol. Love and blessings of all that is good,
A breath of Autumn (Poetry) - 12/10/2013 12:56:51 PM
She spreads her lovely blanket
To proudly don her gown
Enriched with all her moisture
Leaves supple on the ground
Lovely personification in this apt and timely offering. Very nicely done, Carol. Love and best wishes to you,
A Blur in the Distance (Poetry) - 12/10/2013 12:53:14 PM
For do not grieve or shed ye tears
A hug I give to thee
Start a brave and strong young soul
Your journey which ye see
I find these verses particularly encouraging. Since English is not my first language, I do have some "difficulty" in letting the old English vocabulary flow as easily as the more current language. Nonetheless, I believe I "get" this. Thank you for sharing, Carol. Love and best wishes,
Silence Falls (Poetry) - 12/10/2013 12:49:16 PM
In French, there is a saying, "Après la pluie, le beau temps." It appies literally to a storm's passing but also to happenings in life. Your verses remind me of this. Thank you, Carol. Love and best wishes to you,

Stood in the Distance (Poetry) - 12/10/2013 12:35:38 PM
I love this because I "understand" its meaning. I really thought I'd found "true" love because she wanted me. Now, I must admit that my trust and my confidence have been greately shaken after over a year in "hell." Thank you for sharing this compelling write, Carol. Love and best wishes to you,
Stood in the Distance (Poetry) - 12/6/2013 4:52:44 PM
Time is always the vessel that carries true love, all one has to do is be patient for its arrival and do not step off the dock too soon

Very beautiful again
Stood in the Distance (Poetry) - 11/20/2013 9:23:39 AM
Beautifully written, Carol.
Stood in the Distance (Poetry) - 11/20/2013 9:10:35 AM
Oh, I absolutely believe the wait has been very much worth it for both of you. When true love is gained it matters not the time of waiting, the downs and ups. When true love is attained everything is worth it.
Stood in the Distance (Poetry) - 11/20/2013 8:58:02 AM

Skinned knees and teardrops (Poetry) - 11/18/2013 7:22:04 AM
Compassion is a quality of our Creator that we are bestowed with in his image...it is a beautiful facet that distinguishes the warmth of our hearts. Beautiful work.
Skinned knees and teardrops (Poetry) - 11/18/2013 6:49:10 AM
So beautifully put. Yes, compassion, it seems, is void from so many peoples' lives. Sad for them for then they will never truly know joy.
Skinned knees and teardrops (Poetry) - 11/18/2013 5:36:34 AM

Skinned knees and teardrops (Poetry) - 11/17/2013 5:06:23 PM
A person without compassion is only a walking shell, hollow inside. With compassion one can fill the world with colors and rainbows for self and others.
Sandie Angel :o)
Skinned knees and teardrops (Poetry) - 11/17/2013 3:12:54 PM
Without compassion one cannot really learn to love; compassion is needed in all relationships big or small. Animals love us for the love and compassion we show them and we reap the rewards by having unconditional love from them. I could go on, for the subject matter is never ending, but I will close by telling you what a beautiful, well thought out poem you have written. Kudo's to you, Lily.
Joy L. Hale

I was one of those kids with a bloody knee all the time, still have scars. Not that you needed to know that but, this poem was wonderful and the quote perfect.
Skinned knees and teardrops (Poetry) - 11/17/2013 11:49:53 AM
I thought that you had written the front piece, until I saw it credited to the Dalai Lama. But the poem and the epilogue are equally direct and encouraging.
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/17/2013 10:38:14 AM
I am so sorry for the loss of your Molly! Those connections are so strong and may your other friend return when they figure out whatever it is they need to figure out.
Skinned knees and teardrops (Poetry) - 11/17/2013 10:34:09 AM
A person who has not compassion within themselves walks inside a darkness. That darkness can, and will, choke them in the end. Compassion has always been my one shinning light throughout the darkness which swallowed me during those lost decades. I kept it alive, therefore I found a way out of those dark days. Compassion, my one redeeming virtue, but it was enough.
Skinned knees and teardrops (Poetry) - 11/17/2013 10:26:00 AM
This is beautiful and a great lesson for everyone. The way you combine the wisdom of the Dalai lama with your own wise words is sublime.
I will read this every day, over and over again.
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/17/2013 4:40:08 AM
So very sorry for your loss.
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 11:26:14 PM
I can feel your pain through the loss of your beloved pet, Molly; and also the friend in need was not there for you. Very heartfelt poem. This reminds me of how it was when we lost our cat that grew up together with our children. We all cried. Freddy was 16 years old when he went to heaven, but we still cried and wished he could stay longer.
Take care. Your friend may have gone away on a trip or something and never knew about all that has happened. ((((( Hugs )))))
Silence Falls (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 5:53:40 PM
beautiful and soothing... thank you
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 12:48:59 PM
Obviously, she wasn't a "friend".
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 11:49:29 AM
That's so sad, two losses in one. He appears to be a fair weather friend. I say, "be gone," to that. True friends are out there to be found.
There seems to be an epidemic of cancers in pets. It could be in the environment or it could be in the food and/or the chemicals we use to clean them, and prevent infestations like fleas. I wonder if wild animals, wild cats and dogs (wolves) have the same prevalence of cancers? In the wild, any weakened animal quickly dies. That keeps the gene pool strong. Our parents have been domesticated so long, they live longer and are probably more susceptible to diseases.
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 11:23:49 AM
My heart goes out to you, Carol. Losing one of our animals is like losing a family member, because that is exactly what they are, a member of our families. I have lost many pets, the last one four years ago. Sorry you have to go through this.
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 10:47:01 AM
The word friend is an honour title to wear with pride. A real friend doesn't ask, never judges and is there for you whenever you need them the most.
It's so sorry that you've lost your dearest companion and it breaks my heart to see your sadness and pain.
In our darkest moments we learn who our real friends are and who is worthy to wear this title.
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 9:42:23 AM
Oh I am so sorry, as this is such a touching and tender write Laura
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 9:34:28 AM
A true friend you never have to ask...they know...and are always
there when you need them. It is bad enough that you lost Molly
but, to also lose a friend. Good will come of this...Always.
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/16/2013 9:10:03 AM
Oh! You would not believe how much your words reach into my soul with what they express since I am intimate with the theme you share. Love, peace, healing, and best wishes to you, Carol...
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/15/2013 5:09:11 PM
There are many kinds in this world and there are times when they make themselves known who and what they are to you. We are not responsible for who they are...we are only responsible for who we thought they were. No real friend would abandon you, Carolee, we must differentiate better those who are wolves in sheep's clothing.
Molly was special as she held a special place in your heart and she most likely knew it. Our creator gives that instinct to our beloved pets so they would know where home is and where they are most comfortable. Grieve not so much her loss for she was borrowed to make herself and you happy but celebrate the gift that she was to you for that memory is priceless and irreplaceable. I am sending healing prayers to you.
Loss of Two (Poetry) - 11/15/2013 5:02:39 PM
It is always hard losing a precious loving pet. I am sorry for your loss of both your close ties to you. Molly will never really be gone because she lives in your heart. I would comfort you with Big hugs if I could.

Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/30/2013 7:14:23 PM
whoever this poem is for must surely be pleased with your sweet words of affection---well done
Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/30/2013 5:05:03 PM
I like Diana's comment; you do have a way of adding that extra sense to it.
Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/30/2013 6:50:16 AM
There is a consistent flare you have for giving us words of the 'senses,' Lily. Most of your poetry is filled with sound, scent, touch, taste, and that sixth sense 'awareness.' It is a joy to read these sensations. 'Rhythm of my Heart' contains a line I find to be glorious: "A glow of soundless words spoken within." That is so big that it could be the answer to the whole of seeing joy in life. The "words spoken within" can glow even in the dark if we let them. Thank you for this thought, I love it. ~~ Diana
Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/29/2013 6:09:50 AM
I'm sure this thought is so "right on" that your fair lover actually hears it in his soul.
Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/29/2013 4:39:52 AM
Boy Lily you can write! You write about love in a way everyone can read it. You really make it special.
Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/29/2013 4:20:19 AM

Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/28/2013 12:53:14 PM
Sure can. Every time I place my ear on a bosom fair. Women have a whole different way of viewing the rhythms of life, that most men cannot comprehend.
Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/28/2013 8:06:27 AM
Aaahh, The heart always beats faster when love steps in.....our hearts talk to our soul and when you meet your "twin flame" the one you have been waiting for your
Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/28/2013 8:05:52 AM

Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/28/2013 8:01:31 AM
Yes indeed, the love is apparent and wanting in this fine rendition of the rhythm of a heart filled with love evermore, giving your own kind of magic in the embrace of it forever..
Rhythm of my Heart (Poetry) - 5/28/2013 7:50:45 AM
The stillness of the soul, is there anything more serene.
Unspoken magic, the rhythm of your heart.
Things you can only share with your fair lover, the deepest intimacy.
Beyond beautiful Carol
Gently unto me (Poetry) - 5/27/2013 8:29:15 AM
Beautiful tapestry, Lily -- with the most beautiful threads "...unto each other we comfort," "softening even the miser unto giving of his own heart" (I love that phrase) and "impearled love," very unique. Enjoyed this. ~~ Diana
Gently unto me (Poetry) - 5/24/2013 11:28:19 AM
I concur with some here. An excellent lovers card or wedding vow. This should be under romance young lady. Very romantic indeed.
Desire within (Poetry) - 5/24/2013 11:23:16 AM
How many maidens have loved from afar the unreachable. Great vision and story here.

Unrequited love, it's so enticing and ever so dangerous...
I do a lot of Shakespeare plays, I feel as though this could be one of those stories in the making..
Great work as always!
Peace, love and light,
Desire within (Poetry) - 5/15/2013 7:10:49 AM
History in the making! I wonder how many times this has played out. The simple chemistry of opposites attracting, women wanting power and security to feather their nest, and men liking youth and vulnerability.
You had me on the edge of my seat, wondering what she would do next to get his attention.

Out of a book of love that you have created.
Desire within (Poetry) - 5/14/2013 8:28:15 AM
this is such a well written statement of love not to be where both feel only the pain of wanting to be what can not and you found the perfect visual to accompany it
Desire within (Poetry) - 5/14/2013 8:17:31 AM
Ahhh . . . This so reminds me of the British television drama series "Upstairs, Downstairs." Although I seem to remember there was some physical contact between the highbrow and the servants. This was done especially well, Carol.
A Mother's Day Gift (Poetry) - 5/13/2013 10:39:06 AM
"and your seed is a song of love" - such is the true definition of Mother in every sense of the word. May every child of whatever age and state of maturity be gifted with such a champion and comforter as I believe we have become a world of motherless children, largely (judging by our behaviour). And may every 'motherless ancient' have a child/junior who can be to them the mother/father to the (wo)man. Motherhood in many capacities is a gift that all are hungry for. xx
A Mother's Day Gift (Poetry) - 5/13/2013 7:14:09 AM

A Mother's Day Gift (Poetry) - 5/12/2013 9:34:56 AM
Stirring words to celebrate this special day set aside for the mothers of the words. Your words are carved out of experience and a life of learning with some hurting and pain, but eventually much joy. I liked this "different" Mother's Day poem very much. You are an exceptional person.

The Cottage (Poetry) - 4/22/2013 8:05:31 AM
This was excellent, it makes me wonder what they saw. This lets the mind wander to many conclusions. What killed the writer and why, what was the message left.
The Cottage (Poetry) - 4/22/2013 3:41:42 AM
A perfectly written narrative poem Carol.
Building up the tension layer by layer with all little details
And leaving the audience in the end amazed and puzzled.

The Cottage (Poetry) - 4/21/2013 12:52:54 PM
quite a romantic tale with the enduring question for others at the end
The Cottage (Poetry) - 4/21/2013 12:01:40 PM
I swear this will be on my mind forever! What was etched into her back?????? A name? A sign?
The Cottage (Poetry) - 4/21/2013 11:27:48 AM
A story told is worth telling thrice. This is very good, Carol, very good indeed. Poem stories are most endeared to my heart and soul. This is a pure delight, strong images and places where the imagination can fly at will.
"Suicide? No, not suicide just look under her
what’s etched into her back, I’ve never seen anything like it"
There must be another one in the offering unless what is etched into her back is in this poem, and I can't find it.
Rains Heartbeat (Poetry) - 4/20/2013 7:29:21 AM

Lady Mary Ann
Rains Heartbeat (Poetry) - 4/19/2013 11:42:00 AM
Strong images of the power of the storm and the comfort of being in someone else's arms. Sometimes I wish for a tin roof so I can hear the full effect of the rain on it.
Rains Heartbeat (Poetry) - 4/19/2013 5:22:38 AM
Carolee, you've done an excellent job of opening the doors of our imagination...Your poem reminds me of a short story written by Ernest Hemingway, titled "A Clean and Well Lighted Place" written while he was in Spain...your reference to the waiters with glances to the 'two'...Nice work.
Rains Heartbeat (Poetry) - 4/19/2013 2:55:38 AM
Was it all a dream, a beautiful dream?!?!
Not all as it ends up with a tender romantic moment when she, very caring, pulls up the sheets and brushes a wisp of hair from his forehead.
Beautiful and romantic Carol
Rains Heartbeat (Poetry) - 4/18/2013 5:33:33 PM
