Where There's Smoke, There's.... (Article) - 6/5/2008 6:23:04 AM|
How beautiful! If I didn't have nonfunctioning tearducts I would've shorted out the keyboard with a deluge of empathetic tearies.
Things People Do While Driving Are Driving Me Mad (Article) - 6/5/2008 6:10:54 AM
Scandalously hilarious write!!!!! The cell phone yakkers are the ones that irritate me to no end. I got clipped by some doof gob who was chattering away about nothing and hit my back left light as I WAS STILL AT A RED LIGHT! Oooops, says the doof, m'bad, didn't see you. How the hidey hole heck can you not see me on a sunny, bright day STOPPED in front of a red light! Pedestrians p*** me off too.

Smokey McTaggart was one very pampered, beloved pussycat.
He truly was, and thanks so very much for reading my Buddy story and for letting me know about Smokey's story.
Although I've always been a dog person, my old Buddy truly taught me about the many merits of cats. I even brought one home that I rescued in New Orleans after Katrina. I named her Stinky, but my wife quickly changed her name to 'Flower,' and she has truly blossomed today. I hope she has nine lives as well, and she already has tons of nicknames!
One More Cog in the Circle of Life (Article) - 1/31/2008 9:19:33 AM
Big congratulations Nana, from a Poppy who is loving every minute of spoiling his grandkids, three with one on the way, down here in Halifax. It is a gift from Heaven and had brought me more joy than anything in my life thus far.
Life Before Birth and Life After (Article) - 3/16/2007 6:45:19 PM
It's amazing what we do, and don't do, to our children. I gave up smoking for the first, but couldn't for the second two. No difference there. But with the first, I had to go to Europe for three weeks and was horribly ill the whole time. Took anything I could get to feel better, but she turned out fine. I was lucky, or they were as they were supposed to be. Who can ever say for sure?

I don't have any tongue-in-cheek anecdotes to add but after forty years of visiting our good neighbors to the north with only the best of memories to show for it, I can certainly vouch for your truthfullness in this matter. Canadians, for the most part, I count as the friendliest people on earth. I look forward to renewing North-South relationships each summer.

So sad those memories they have to live with, others could only imagine what they go through each time their eyes close. Thank you for sharing Ev.

Your poem creates a picture in which it appears the poor woman has lost her meger savings. Your symbolism is excellent. Enjoyed
