Me and My Four Feet (Poetry) - 7/20/2003 1:47:31 PM
love your attitude, butch! as long as you can get around, who CARES that you have to use a wheelchair? at times i wish I had one; using my crutch can get tiring at times, especially after a long day at work! it would also take some of the pressure off my achy joints! good write! (((HUGS))) and love, your friend (who understands what it is like), karen lynn in texas. :)
Me and My Four Feet (Poetry) - 7/19/2003 7:09:25 PM

Me and My Four Feet (Poetry) - 7/19/2003 6:32:15 PM
"...But my mind is what keeps me happy and bright..."
That's the key...a good attitude. I spent a year in a wheelchair with a back injury, and walked with a cane for many years. Traveled all over the world with that sucker. No picnic, but I could really scoot around. There are days when I wish I had wheels instead of feet. [smiles] A thoughtful and inspiring work, Butch. Bravo.
The Eagle (Poetry) - 7/16/2003 7:18:21 PM

It's something to see, too. Well done, Butch. A lovely tribute, a glowing reminder, and a sorrowful reminder, too. Fitting for the 4th. What makes this country great is how we feel about our freedoms and how we admire and respect those willing to give their life so that others can have a taste of it. Irregardless of the politics, we believe in freedom.

The Unwelcome Home (Poetry) - 5/11/2003 6:14:33 PM
So bitter. That "jungle" was alive with life--human and otherwise that war does not respect. Much more was lost than you and your buddies' youth. Once you understand that, healing will begin.

war (Poetry) - 4/19/2003 8:31:54 PM
Whether one is for or against, this war has shown the atrocities of Sadaam's regime. At least one generation will grow up free, even if it is for only five minutes of their little lives.
Well done on your observations and a fine poem.

The Day Liberty Cried (Poetry) - 4/13/2003 7:43:10 PM
That is so sweet. I know what you mean about forgetting. I don't know that people really forgot, but I think they forgot the respect they had that day to continue through. Wasn't it funny how honking simmered down to almost none? And how people were so full of gratitude, humbleness, and the power to give? It was certainly one of the most sad and peaceful days. Unfortunately the week after it went back to honking and stealing. How sad.
Warm Love

The Day Liberty Cried (Poetry) - 4/13/2003 5:53:38 PM
i think we all cried. I remember being fast asleep, my sister has drivers ed so she was up an hour before me, she shook me and went "hey kaci, guess what! Some planes just purposely crashed into the world trade center and the pentagon, crazy huh?" and I just went "mmhmm" and rolled back over. My mom told me when I woke up and I almost forgot that I had already heard.
