This gripped me and held me until, in the end I let out the breath I didn't know I'd been holding onto. The depth of empathy and insight here is surely from a deep connection with Light/Love.

Return of a Stranger (Short Story) - 10/31/2009 6:28:03 AM
For some reason it reminds me of my brother, he lived in Boston. When he died in 2007 my Mom and I were there. When people in his building and a local store found out he died they said such wonderful things about him and some didn't even know his name. Now I will be able to think of him, that people cared when he no longer walked by. Thank you John

John, that was amazing. When I first started to read, I thought oh no, not another attack. You made it into something amazing. I have always had a hard time with religion and as I get older I've learned that I am comfortable with my beliefs, not necessarily someone else interpretation of God's way. I really enjoyed it.

Nightmare (Short Story) - 7/15/2006 5:25:27 PM
Great message- I haven't ever seen a Christian arguement that is prochoice. Last time I checked, abortion was NOT addressed in the bible specifically, and like so many issues is all about interpretation. It was refreshing to see a different interpretation.

Nightmare (Short Story) - 3/14/2005 4:46:20 AM
John, 'Judge not, lest ye be judged' I do my best to live by those words. This world would be a much better place if all would try it. Only God and myself, has to be aware of what I hold within..and even then my own opinions are not His.
A very powerful message you've penned here John. Thank you for sharing it.

John: Obviously you being in the healthcare profession has given you great compassion. This has been a wonderful thing for me to read on a Sunday morning when I probably should be at church. This has given me some new insights into abortion; this is what true Christianity is all about.
Return of a Stranger (Short Story) - 8/7/2003 2:21:28 PM
This is a good story and it has reminded me of a something similar with a 'man-of-the-road' that took place with my husband and I some years back, I think I am going to have to write it up! Jackie <> <

A question we should all ask ourselves, "What would Jesus do in this situation" Certainly something to make all of us think twiceabout making judgements. Jackie <> <

Great Blue Heron (Poetry) - 11/18/2013 9:13:22 AM
A wonderful personification of someone hiding in plain sight.
There is a reason for the shyness of the Great Blue Heron. In the 1950s while walking in the woods near my grandfather's logging camp, we came across a heron, dead, and hanging in a tree. At that time, almost all birds were in open season all the time. They became very shy of human contact. Fortunately, Great Blue Herons are still around to astound us when we see them.
Great Blue Heron (Poetry) - 11/18/2013 4:49:00 AM

Gerbils (Poetry) - 11/5/2013 8:53:04 AM
Like living in San Francisco and looking down on 101 at night. You wonder where they are all going? And why they have to go so fast. I think the others have missed your point about the rat race.
I lost my taste for gerbils when I heard that story about Richard Gere. I don't know if it was true or not, but it was disgusting enough for me not to associate with anyone who has a gerbil for a pet.
I looked it up...
When Gere heard the confession, the famous pacifist and Buddhist became enraged and attempted to strangle Matthews before being restrained by the night’s other award winners Ben Affleck and Quentin Tarantino.
“I got more grief from people over the years for that stupid gerbil rumor than I did for making ‘The Mothman Prophecies,’ “ Gere told Hollywood & Swine. ”And Cindy Crawford divorced me because she wanted a pet but couldn’t trust me with one.”

And i'm sure you do have some sunlight brought into your life somehow these days, with family, friends, etc. Good write, enjoyed reading it. Although most of my life is over with, i'm looking forward, not backward.
Empty Window (Poetry) - 10/10/2013 11:23:07 AM
If you're on the outside looking in, they put you in jail.
But from the inside looking out, you're already in jail.
Life stinks. (Mel Brooks).
Empty Window (Poetry) - 10/9/2013 2:29:14 PM
Windows have this power and every poet I know has written once about a window, Last week our neighbors moved. At night since our house is situated higher than there's I can look down into their living room. The older gentleman is always reading the paper in his chair and his wife watching TV. I can see them when Im turning off the outside light for the night........I think Im going to miss that just knowing they were there (and they were great neighbors!)
Empty Window (Poetry) - 10/9/2013 1:52:25 PM

Empty Window (Poetry) - 10/9/2013 12:22:37 PM
Like we fill the pages of our books with images we've captured in our minds. There is much to see out that window as you have reminded us.
Empty Window (Poetry) - 10/9/2013 9:01:02 AM
Very touching write, John...loved it!
Empty Window (Poetry) - 10/9/2013 6:56:59 AM

Empty Window (Poetry) - 10/9/2013 3:39:30 AM
A thought provoking piece of poetry. "Time goes by like a fast moving train. Stop to look back too long and you will miss the blessings that are right in front of you."
Peace, love and multiple blessings,
John Michael Domino
After You (Poetry) - 10/8/2013 6:06:42 PM
I can relate... ...but it is sad when circumstances beyond one's control seem to ruin everything that was perfect. We'll see what happens. Thank you, John. Love and peace to you,
Empty Window (Poetry) - 10/8/2013 6:05:11 PM

After You (Poetry) - 10/5/2013 5:21:53 PM
What a deeply touching poem. Sometimes a person has that certain something that makes one "come alive" and happy to face each new day. Well scripted, poet!
Arguing With Oz (Poetry) - 10/4/2013 7:03:12 AM
So you were the one manipulating the universe! You sure left me hanging with that last line. I guess there's a little bit of the wizard in all of us.
Arguing With Oz (Poetry) - 10/4/2013 4:25:33 AM
Very intriguing write, John...enjoyed.
Arguing With Oz (Poetry) - 10/4/2013 2:15:57 AM

Arguing With Oz (Poetry) - 10/3/2013 11:40:58 PM
Oh, what futile traps we set for ourselves at times not realizing the joke is on ourselves. Very good and extremely "deep".

But I do (Poetry) - 9/30/2013 8:03:05 AM
Wonderfully refreshing. I could sing a song in it. The repetition even helps convey meaning. Superlative.
But I do (Poetry) - 9/30/2013 5:43:09 AM
Nice to be able to write about romantic encounters with a loved one. Well done!
Sweet On You. (Poetry) - 9/29/2013 10:01:14 PM
I just found you and now you're leaving. I hope you come back soon for I do so enjoy your poetry.
Poets Live Alone. (Poetry) - 9/29/2013 9:59:19 PM
When I write, I am alone. Time and space disappear. I enter a zone where nothing exists except my thoughts of what I am writing. Thank you for this wonderful write.
Alcoholism (Poetry) - 9/29/2013 9:48:27 PM
One day at a time.
But I do (Poetry) - 9/29/2013 9:45:56 PM
What a romantic and sweet poem. She is lucky whomever she is to have you.
Ctrl Alt Delete (Poetry) - 9/29/2013 4:07:36 PM
You might want to write with pen and paper next time.
Such love and its words of description are too precious to lose!
But I do (Poetry) - 9/29/2013 4:04:55 PM
Regis' words of description are just right--"sweetly wistful" and quite romantic! It's one of those poems that make me smile as I read...I totally enjoyed it!
Ctrl Alt Delete (Poetry) - 9/29/2013 3:10:05 PM
I am sure many can relate. Even Bill Gates recently admitted on live television that the Control/Alt/Delete thing was a mistake (in retrospect). Love and peace,
But I do (Poetry) - 9/29/2013 3:08:01 PM
A sweetly wistful romantic write that flows very well. Thank you for sharing it, John. Love and peace to you,
Ctrl Alt Delete (Poetry) - 9/27/2013 7:13:37 AM
Fantastic, and I think everyone can relate in several ways to this good write.
Ctrl Alt Delete (Poetry) - 9/26/2013 1:55:12 PM
If only it was that simple...."Ctrl Alt Delete"? Think of how much misery, heart ache and pain we'd not suffer. Then again....I would say how do you release the resentment. Welcome back, John!
Ctrl Alt Delete (Poetry) - 9/26/2013 12:11:34 PM
And to think those idiots from IBM who thought up that stupid three key command recently celebrated its anniversary as though it was something to be honored.
The real genius would be develop a computer that would not lose anything when either its hardware or software decides to have a hickcup. No, these nerds love to do complicated things which make it hard for poetry to survive beyond the fleeting thought.
I Love You (Poetry) - 9/26/2013 10:31:52 AM
Read- cannot analyze it as i've not been in love for 6 years and adding.
Nobody Dares (Poetry) - 9/26/2013 10:30:12 AM
Childhood memories - good and bad - i've them also.
Poets Live Alone. (Poetry) - 9/26/2013 10:28:59 AM
expressing your feelings like this does help - i hate aloneness too, not even writing at present. Just cannot think when alone.
Poets Live Alone. (Poetry) - 9/26/2013 10:25:21 AM
Everyone lives alone. But I know what you mean as far as poets being some of the more lonely people than others. I most definitely live alone, as a poet, and as a human.
Nice write, I will have to read more!
Ctrl Alt Delete (Poetry) - 9/26/2013 7:34:00 AM
OMG this is pure gold! Having you been saving up? So glad to see you have put pen to page (or font to display). Either way, this is a great poem on the theme of regretting the things not done or said. Definitely no regrets with this.
Sweet On You. (Poetry) - 4/28/2012 2:19:41 AM

A Dancing To (Poetry) - 7/5/2011 3:20:35 PM
I love this. More of us need to take the time to dance through life.
Don’t Tell Me You’re Not Here. (Poetry) - 5/20/2011 1:35:19 PM
You are so right, John...Gazebos can hold dear, the magical places for a poet's heart! So fitting that love is there, and all around ....for us to write about.
Nobody Dares (Poetry) - 5/20/2011 9:53:38 AM
It sounds like you had a difficult childhood, John. My inner child's heart reaches out to yours with a hug. It always amazes me -- volumes are spoken in a poem, and though the lines are few, the pain is faced, embraced, and there is a cleansing that comes from feeling the words as we are writing them. Well done, John, well done.
Hugs to you,
Sweet On You. (Poetry) - 5/20/2011 9:36:58 AM
Oh John, your heart simply radiates through every word you write. This is wonderful and I love how you write.
Hugs to you,
Sweet On You. (Poetry) - 5/14/2011 6:58:13 AM
You have a lot of friends here who will miss you. I can imagine you are busy, though, and wish you health and happiness always.
Candlelight is something I don't get to see very often. I can't have any matches around because of my son. I had a four alarm fire in my yard the other day. I have to say, though, the tykes that did it sure did a good job getting rid of the weeds. And the fire did a great job of weeding out which neighbors are truly going to be friends. Anyway, you were a fireman so I thought you might like to know.
Sweet On You. (Poetry) - 5/13/2011 6:24:55 AM
John don't stay gone long, you'll be greatly missed. Lovely poem.
