Spring Cleaning (Poetry) - 4/7/2013 11:12:37 AM
That picture of forsythia reminds me of my time in West Virginia where forsythia grew wild. As for bluebirds, I have heard that they are in great danger as their numbers decline. You are so fortunate to have seen a nesting pair and be able to write about it.

I'm sure it happens in church every week. Thanks for sharing it with us, this little bit of irony and sarcasm.

I love wrens!! Fave is the Carolina wren. Got this great racing stripe on its face and more spunk than a barrel o'monkeys. You have
done a wonderful job of getting across a mama wren's irrascibility. She WILL protect her brood! You had BETTER get outta her way!
I love their chitchat; I love their sandpapery, fuss-budgety curses (for lack of a better description); I love the way they greet spring with song. Thank you so much for reminding me how much company they
are {whether they want to be, or not} and what fine examples they set
by being true year after year to their spouses and workin' like it's
goin' outta style.
"Ratcheting" is perfect.
Whole scene!!

At first, you had me thinking, “owl.” The wren is perfect. While they seem to like human habitation, they certainly will protect their nest from all harm, including that of the owner of their abode.

Marriage (Poetry) - 2/12/2013 9:28:31 AM
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
4 Love is always patient;
love is always kind;
love is never envious
or arrogant with pride.
Nor is she conceited,
5 and she is never rude;
she never thinks just of herself
or ever gets annoyed.
She never is resentful;
6 is never glad with sin;
she’s always glad to side with truth,
and pleased that truth will win.
7 She bears up under everything;
believes the best in all;
there is no limit to her hope,
and never will she fall.
Love and Light

It must be sad not to have known your mother. My mother is still alive and I think of her daily and she struggles with the effects of her aging.

A Still Small Voice (Poetry) - 9/19/2012 12:01:07 PM
Peace to you, enjoyed reading your writes today.
A Still Small Voice (Poetry) - 9/4/2012 11:18:57 AM
One needs to evict the noise of the world to hear that still small voice. Much daily prayer.
So Jezebel sent a message to Elijah. She said: "You can be sure that I will kill you, just as I killed the other prophets. I'll do it by this time tomorrow."
Elijah was afraid. So he ran for his life.
Been in similar situations. It becomes overwhelming. In my experiences only interceding in tongues gets you through. And even then it feels like you're in a rowboat in a hurricane at times. The seductive and violent powers of the Jezebelean spirit can humble the best of the best. It's not an easy battle, even with the Holy Spirit. We all get knocked down. Multiple times. Thank God for the merciful hand that reaches out to us when we do. Enjoyed your thoughts. Peace ...
Gravity of Life (Poetry) - 8/29/2012 6:46:29 AM
If this is personal, it is disturbing because I see no positive effort to change things in it.

Gravity of Life (Poetry) - 8/26/2012 8:45:08 PM
An enigma, gravity. Gravid, riddled and disconcerting. Like this piece, Bob. Nice work.
