I'm impressed. The dialog seemed a little stilted at times, though. Something to think about.

Ghosts of Gold Hill, NV (Short Story) - 3/22/2007 7:23:15 AM
My fiancee and I have been visiting the Gold Hill Hotel every year for my birthday around the end of February or early March for the last four years and always have interesting things happen to us. The first year we went we were in Rosie's room and we checked in, put all of our belongings on the bed and headed to our favorite saloon downstairs. I returned to the room about 30 minutes later to get my camera and all of our blankets were on the floor but our belongings were still in the exact place on the bed. Needless to say I was a bit shaken. That night, we were out on the deck outside our room and the door suddenly opened and closed by itself. My fiancee examined the door to see how that could happen because there was no wind and we wanted to find an explanation for it. That same night I couldn't sleep because there was a drip coming from the bathroom. I finally got up to stop it and as soon as I stepped into the bathroom it stopped. I then checked the tub and the sink and they were completely dry as if water had never dripped. The next morning, I was going to take a shower so I took the rug off the tub and placed it on the floor. I went back to the bed to grab my shampoo and when I went back to the tub the rug had been placed back on the tub. Everytime we would leave our room the ashtray would end up outside on the deck. We assumed Rosie didn't appreciate us smoking in her room. We told the staff what had happened to us and they just smiled and said "interesting".
The next year we decided to stay in William's room and our daughter and her boyfriend stayed in Rosie's room. We smelled cigar smoke the entire time we were there. We left the hotel to go have dinner and when we came back one of my tops had been taken out of my bag and neatly placed by the window. Our daughter said she couldn't sleep because she heard the piano downstairs playing all night.
The third year we had the same thing happen with the ashtray ending up outside everytime we left the room and this time we smelled roses in our room. We were the only people staying on the third floor and we kept hearing footsteps and the door next to ours kept opening and closing during the night. When we got up to see who it was nobody was there.
This last trip which was March 3rd of this year was unusual because it was the first time we didn't have anything happen to us. We were sort of disapponted but as we were having our usual pre departure bloody mary in the saloon we met a group of paranormal investigaters that had stayed the night in the "Minors Cabin" the night before. They stated that they had brought some of there equipment in front of our room that night but found no activity. They also said they had someone singing to them and it was a song about a fish. They think it was Rosie. At that point we were sure thats why we didn't have her visiting us. We also met a man and his girlfiend that had stayed the night before and he said he had to go get something out of his car late that night and while in the parking lot he heard footsteps and when he looked up on the roof outside Rosie's room he saw footprints appearing in the snow leading to her window and then stopped. All of us went up to see and they were gone.
The Gold Hill Hotel is my favorite place to spend my birthday every year and it continues to draw me closer to it every visit. I did not really believe in the "Paranormal" until staying there and now I truley believe there are many "Ghost" that still reside there and they are quite intertaining at times. The staff are wonderful and make you feel very welcome.

This was excellent. We have a picture with a glowing figure in it that my husband took near our home here in Ipswich, MA. It was taken on a digital camera and the picture before or after has nothing on it and the figure has definate shape...not a blotch or anything. There was no moon and the sun was not coming up or going down.
This story is exciting and I do hope you get another chance to investigate.

I believe there are ghosts and spirits. I watch "Cross-Over" on the TV and I believed in it.
I have never seen one though.
Great story. Very interesting and entertaining for the season.

Nice thoughts for meditation. One wonders about the complexity of the heavens. Where was it before it was here? What keeps it here--why doesn't it just become non-being?

Your poem reminds me of the Abraham teachings channelled by Ester Hicks. You seem to have the vision to see into the etherworld beyond the physical realm. Outstanding.

Interesting. There are a number of elements in this that are very similar to some in a number of my own poems. I suppose
that this is what one would call a prose poem, and it seems to work well that way.
