I Searched for Treasure (Poetry) - 5/3/2013 8:16:17 AM
You label this one for children, but there are several reality programs out there that are showing this applies as well to well-meaning adults.
What flashed in my mind was the thought I had (perhaps a dream) that I had discovered a stash––not of marbles––but of multicolored gemstones of many cuts that I put away put away and kept without telling anyone. Fortunately (or unfortunately), I dreamed that they were plastic and just representations of precious stones rather than the real thing.

Watch Out, Penguins! (Poetry) - 4/19/2013 11:04:43 AM
I have been to Moody Gardens where they have many penguins to see. I really hate being there because, while I can't see their insides, what comes out smells like rotten fish. ;-)

Bruce,
Yes, I'd advise them to flee or a meal they will be! Enjoyed!

Breakfast Frenzy (Poetry) - 4/13/2013 3:32:06 PM
I just took a little walk between the books and jokes
to see if Bruce Larkin was putting on a major writing hoax
It's true, says I, he writes a ton
and starts again when he is done
He surely has a lot of fun
Much more than most dull folks.
Congratulations on your success as a children's (prolific) author!

Breakfast Frenzy (Poetry) - 4/12/2013 7:09:26 AM
I once had a friend, a skinny World War II vet, who invited me over for breakfast and proceeded to provide me with fruit, juice, dry cereal, hot cereal, pancakes, French toast, eggs, toast, milk, coffee, and I probably forgot the rest. I couldn't believe it, but apparently he did this every day for his wife and his three sons. He was a very frugal man and none of the family ever got obese eating breakfasts like that. Rather than call it a breakfast frenzy, it was more like a breakfast buffet for free.

A Hollow Boast (Poetry) - 10/17/2012 3:58:27 PM
Don't laugh; I had an uncle, they told me, whose hair turned white when some young people jumped out of hiding and scared him. He had staring eyes, too. I remember him, but who knows if the story about him was true?
Good limerick!

It's Autumn (Poetry) - 10/17/2012 12:06:30 PM
A rhyming treat. Autumn is good enough to eat… pumpkin pie, that is.

Cirque Du Soliel (Poetry) - 9/13/2012 1:20:27 PM
I went recently here in Houston. Saw three performers fall. All were caught or caught themselves. Got right back up and perform the event again. It is very dangerous what they do, and when they have a misstep, they have to act very fast or they could be severely injured. They are really pushing the limits of the human body.

I agree. We went some years back in San Diego. Could hardly believe our eyes. Amazing what gifted human bodies can accomplish.
The Night Before School Starts (Poetry) - 8/27/2012 9:36:48 AM
Going to school, like eating spinach for most, is a bogey man. I wonder if we'll ever be able to make it interesting enough and challenging enough, to make it more worthwhile for youngsters.

My Food as a Bird (Poetry) - 8/17/2012 11:58:53 AM
Bruce,
A fast food place I've been too I would watch the birds fly in the trash can outside and fly out with a french fry. So I started sharing mine with these beautiful creatures.
Blessings,
