Wow I was not aware so many really believed that. Some of the poems there show they can not be real. The prices and charging to buy books was a big clue. I found the article on www.zolaenterprises.com under the articles on self publishing.
That was scary stuff. There are many of them on the scam alerts or before the ecoli stuff took it over there were.

I agree with you. I too was pulled in and I even went to Washington D.C. for one of their conventions. That's when I found out about all the trouble. I will say the experiance in D.C. was marvelous for my husband and me. But poetry.com is not a part of my life any more. Though they still have some of my poems on line and my granddaughter Victoria Dunaj. I do love authorsden and I have been with authorsden about a week. Good luck to you!

Ah yes, I have just commented (another author) on the infamous poetry.com scam. And Yes!!! I have fallen victim to them. I bought a "deluxe, hardcover edition" of poems (including my own). I only have one poem on that site.I would like to have it removed also. Anytime you have to pay for your work to be published (I'm not talking about self-publishing) and none of the anthologies or work is sold in bookstores,red flags should be waving. I will never recommend (my personal opinion) poetry.com to anyone. I am glad that you have written your personal point of view on poetry.com.The more complaints the less people scammed.

I think we've all been victims of Poetry.com's scams. They have preyed on human emotion and how as writers, often not blessed with a lot of commendation, enjoy hearing how 'great' our work is. I would never recommend their site to anyone, nor would I ever send my work to them again.
Thanks for sharing this article. Hopefully, like my similar post on the matter, your article will help others, who may be riding the fence as to whether or not to submit their work to Poetry.com, to see that they are not worth the time or effort.

I am well aware of some sites. One of which not only "Borrowed" one of my works, but kept sending me invitations to join the "Illuminati".
I have heard of Poetry.com, and have shied away.

I think that ALL of us got caught into this trap, I know that I and a lot of my poet friends did, don't be hard on yourself. :) AD is a very cool site, I think that I am starting on my 3rd year here, LOL, I don't remember exactly but I love it for the same reasons.

Poetry.com is associated with a poetry mail order that I got caught
up in about six years ago. They suggested for me to buy their
anthology with one poem I've wrote published inside.
Their address stopped me from responding to their offer.
1 poetry plaza, was this company's street address. About a year after,
a segment on 20/20 was aired about this poetry company. The newsreporter said, they would take anything a person would, and could
write, and publish it in their anthology. 20/20 warned, the company
is a scam, and not to invest in it.

Ditto what Joshua said.....they will take any poetry at all....bad writing ...bad grammar...and publish it just to make a lot of money for themselves...I never wanted any part of that scam..thanks for posting this ....floria

You have captured and express the true essence of what love is all about.An amazing poem.Materialistic things like money,house,apartments,,cell phones,etc will be gone,but love lasts forever.It reaches all corners of the globe and its universal in many ways.Love can get rid of the darkness and bring light to a tunnel beaming with brightness.Love can make a person rich inside of their hearts without playing the lottery because your significant other is the jackpot to your happiness.I enjoy reading this poem,take care
