The Titanic: Ship of Dreams (Short Story) - 2/28/2009 7:07:17 PM|
In 1912, my Grandma tried to board the Carpathia, but could not get a 2nd class ticket. That ship rescued the Titanic. Too bad she did not make that voyage. It would have been quite a story. (See came to American in 1913.)

I am very familar with this story, and are you from Chicago? This is one of those stories that I wanted to write a short story off of but wanted to do the research for it first. The story originates in Justice, Illinois.

Bottled Tears (Poetry) - 3/22/2004 2:44:01 AM
Your grief has touched my heart and I am so glad that you have penned these verses because you have shone a light through the 'Valley of Baca', through which most of us will have to travel... Your poem is like an outstretched hand, showing us which way to go despite our reluctance to follow. Thank you for sharing this. Gratitude and respect.
Daddy's Hands (Poetry) - 3/22/2004 2:33:45 AM
Oh Laura! This could be written about my own dear father, who after 73 years (the last two in failing health) seems to get frailer by the day... I count every day as a gift with him still here with us... Though I am TOTALLY CONVINCED that when he is ready for the next leg of his journey - he will be going to a joy unspeakable! (I just wish we could all go together because goodbye is so damn hard!)
