Patient Heal Thy Self (Short Story) - 8/21/2009 8:35:36 AM
Good points made. I'm a social worker (to support my writing habit) who deals a lot with psychotropic medications, and have seen cases where parents will demand that their children be prescribed medications to the point that the drugs counteract each other and leave the child in a drug-induced stupor, which is sad but makes for low-anxiety parenting for those who don't want their children to be conscious of the outside world. Some even need special stomach medications to counteract the damage of all the pills they take. Another important difference is the rise of the artificial food industry in relation to the unnecessary drug industry. Why make a healthy meal and/or exercise when you can gorge yourself on fast food in front of the TV then cure the terrible stomach pain, cholesterol, terrible sleep patterns, etc. this type of lifestyle causes by a cocktail of colorful pills? Lastly, although you don't like to blame physicians, and I don't necessarily think they should be blamed, they seem to have not exercised their power as much as they could. They are basically forced to bow to the pharmaceutical companies because, due to the fact that all the insurance money goes to drugs, they are missing out on their cut for preventative care and real medicinal practice. When you go into a doctor asking about a drug, he often doesn't even need to prescribe it. The drug companies give him massive quantities of free samples (which brings to mind a crack dealer offering the first taste for free) and make their money from the follow-up appointments after the placebo effect has patients clamoring for more. I guess we should all be doing something more than angrily typing, but that's the problem--we all need to act.

A Good Thing? (Short Story) - 4/4/2007 10:04:22 PM
Good article, John. The first time Nazis bucked up against the brainwashed of Islam willing to die for their heavenly virgins, there would have been a retreat of the goose-step. Let's hope we all don't end up slippin' and slidin' in camelcrap. Vigilance is the name of the game. Best, Elizabeth

Nixon Secrets Revealed. (Article) - 11/23/2009 6:35:58 AM
Neat bit of sarcasm here, John. Comparing Obama to Nixon might not only shock some people but, maybe, possibly, uh, might possibly get some people to thinking... But I doubt it.

Fort Hood (Article) - 11/7/2009 10:20:09 PM
Joseph’s eyes swirl with the mesmerizing words of the almighty one, the glorious and marvelous Barack and company. He is a true believer and will never see the truth. Like so many of his lefty friends, Joseph is lost. He and they are dead to reason, slain by the lies they love so much. Now, hearing them, they are addicted to them and long for more, and more and ever more. And they will be filled. Praise to Obama, Pelosi and company - all hail to the lovely lies they speak!

Fort Hood (Article) - 11/6/2009 9:04:09 PM
"Two Wrongs Don't Make a Right!" Never Did - Never Will! Neither Extreme - is Ever Right! Fanatic Left-Wing Democrat nor - Fanatic Right-Wing Republican - Anyone who swallows the party propaganda without qualification or questioning tends to be a fanatic - and such people can not be dealt with on an intellectual plane - Emotions rule them, rather than logic. OVER FORTY INNOCENT AMERICAN CITIZENS WERE MURDERED, OR MAIMED BY A FREAKING MUSLIM - THAT'S THE SOLITARY FACT! ROME BURNS - AND YOU GUYS ARGUE 'POLITICS!' SHAME ... TOM

Fort Hood (Article) - 11/6/2009 11:19:03 AM
John, It is incredible that people like Arlington and Dim light exist. But, alas they do. Responding to this kind of ignorance is fruitless. I do not delete their responses so that everyone who reads them can see how Left-Wingers think and act. If you said you didn't like Obama's tie; according to Arlington, you are prejudice. So, since Left-Wingers use this kind of criteria to say someone is prejudice...I'm glad to say I'm prejudice...Prejudice against these Left-Wing yokels hell-bent on destroying the United States of America, of which Arlington, Dim Light and Obama are of the same mold.

Fort Hood (Article) - 11/6/2009 10:25:59 AM
You say this is "not a platform." in your statement below!!! You are using the tragedy of Brave American Soldiers to spread HATE, YES HATE, toward the duly ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATE OF AMERICA, GOD HELP YOU. this is totally disgusting. You have every right to hate, yes Hate the President, JUST BECAUSE HE IS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN, it is your right, but please don't USE our soldiers tragedy in the same message.

Fort Hood (Article) - 11/6/2009 6:40:46 AM
John. I felt my heart quicking as I read "Fort Hood" and of course see this tragedy as you see it and have come to the conclusion that it makes no sense to argue with "Dim Light" as he is so deeply indocranated with Democrat propaganda that nothing, not even what should be apparant to any person with half a brain, can see or admit to. "I challenge you to provide some Factual Sources for your false claims, John" All he has to do is open his eyes. Well written article, John. Mark

Fort Hood (Article) - 11/6/2009 5:28:42 AM
A Statement of facts does not a platform make ,Joseph, I am speaking of the well being of America here, which is an American responsibility, not a platform. Unlike you and this administration, I don’t have a platform or agenda for poisoning peoples minds. Self evident truth is only poisonous to those who lie, and spread government propaganda. So I'm sure you're immune. P.S. If you can't see self evident truth,Joseph, I'm afraid I can’t help you. All I can do is suggest that you keep your eyes closed and your fingers in your ears and keep humming the Obama song. R. ARLINGTON!!! Who the heck do you think you are giving people the right to hate the president because he is African American. I don’t hate people nor do I wish to, nor do I judge people based on their race. Apparently Mr. “former” state law enforcement officer race seems to be a big factor in your judgments. You’re a sick racist my “friend” you should get help with that., PPS. Joseph please stop changing your comments….you’re making an idiot out of yourself.

Fort Hood (Article) - 11/6/2009 4:58:13 AM
I find it disgusting that you would use such a tragedy as a political platform to poison people's minds with right-wing propaganda! What, exactly, does your heavily opinionated "article" have to do with the tragic Fort Hood incident? Absolutely NOTHING!

Weather or NOT! (Article) - 10/17/2009 6:07:40 AM
John, Oh so sardonically funny...ha,ha,ha...but not funny at all because the opposite is oh so true. The world is going to spend zillions on a hoax dreamed up by a billionaire who doesn't have enough money; a huckster named Al Gore!

Weather or NOT! (Article) - 10/14/2009 6:03:09 PM
Very sardonically funny! At least it would be funny if it weren't so close to the truth. Poor Al Gore, he just can't seem to get it right, to him I say Boo-hoo! Poor God, too, for losing control of the weather to those pesky Democrats. A pox on them. A pox I say! Mark

The Real Deal (Article) - 7/26/2009 10:13:06 AM
It seems my two heart operations in the past months would not have been covered under the Dems health care plan. As an 85 year old my usefulness is not considered important. Wake up senior citizens you are next if this passes. Get in touch with your local politicians and have them vote against this health care plan that is being rushed through before many can wake up to what is happening. Thank your President for this and remember he told you he was going to do it so aren't you glad you voted for him.

Bad and Worst (Article) - 7/5/2009 9:06:37 PM
Oh, God, John, how I hope and wish that you are not speaking just to the pew. America needs this lady, but she will be drawn and quartered and cut into pieces for the Democratic carrion that will eat her and spew out the pieces. What they've done to Sarah is nothing short of criminal and, oh, how I hope she has the strength and backing to stand up to the horrors that they will heap upon her. God help Sarah Palin... An us. Mark

Bad and Worst (Article) - 7/5/2009 4:32:23 PM
AMEN John, AMEN and AMEN!You have said it so well. The Republicans, Democrats and especially the press cannot understand honesty when they see it-why? because they have seen dishonesty so long they cannot fathon anything else. They cannot believe, will not believe that there even exists someone who has the people's best interest at heart when they talk. They are so used to hearing someome talk and know they are talking about money regardless of what they are saying. That is why Sarah is confusing them with the truth. Wouldn't it be wonderful like Merle Haggard says in his song, "to have a president in the white house that will do what she says she will do?" Of Course, Merle said 'he' not 'she.'

The New World Government (Poetry) - 11/21/2009 7:18:51 AM
At my age I should have seen this coming. It started in my lifetime with the UN. I do not want to think that someone is going to govern my off-spring, or cut there head off. Excellent poem, right to the point. GOD BLESS US ALL.

The New World Government (Poetry) - 11/18/2009 4:09:20 PM

The New World Government (Poetry) - 11/17/2009 8:00:13 AM
World of Living Hell. You can say that again. This is the dawn of the New World Order. A scientific, neo-feudal, command-and-control dictatorship. America is/ was the only nation-state strong enough to stand in the way of all this. So, they've conquered her from within. Now it's down to the People, again. Either we resist as patriots, or go down into slavery and servitude. More will be revealed. Good poem.

On Being A Poet-Bobbie's Challenge (Poetry) - 9/9/2009 8:54:14 PM
SURE you can quit. Of COURSE you can. Ain' like poetry is a drug. Wait. How many times have I tried to fight it off and ended up failing? Tell myself I don't w a n t to stop. Better addicted to it than crack or booze? Sometimes I wonder. Still, when you need something to get you through the night, a poem just might do it. Hangover's worth it? I predict you will be back. Hope it isn't wishful thinkin' ! Poets Anonymous Member, Emeritus

Beyond Guilt, Beyond Shame, Beyond Apology (Poetry) - 2/15/2009 3:04:10 PM
JOHN - SUPERB POEM! I joined the Army Reserves in '60, 6 months active duty & 5.5 years reserves - no action, no war stories, no medals, no benefits, no education, no commisary privileges, nuttin' honey! Honorable Discharge in '66 - Married same year - 34 years of "wedded bliss' and 2 kids put thru college - just a normal Joe, w/normal life. But, have always sympathized and empathized with VETS! - CONGRESS SUCKS! The CONTROLLED MEDIA SUCKS! The public was sold a 'bill of goods' - and all the Willy's suffered because of it - i have two nephews and a childhood Buddy who all served in Nam, and you'll not find better, more upright good men! Peace, Friend John - Peace1 Tom.
